Paper work sent in for Pre-approval for the second time.

Fingers crossed.

Power to weight is right this time so should be ok.

Approved! On a few small conditions but overall very happy. Now to get a engineer on board and get this dirty jap motor in the green one.

:3gears:

Bought the Hoppers Kit 290kit for the front. Just waiting for a mate to get it off his car. ;) You know who you are.

Engine mounts are on way, then to try and finally nut out brake setup. Need to sort out the Diff too.

Well small update. Now have sold the money hungry beast of a daily and bought a V6 VX Wagon. Got some cash to spend! :clappin:

So, while I do the driveline work, I am taking my seats over to a trimmer. Plan is Leather. Colour, no idea. I had Black and Blue. Paid heaps to get them trimmed and now going to possibly sell the lot to someone who wants it. Will put them up for sale shortly if I find another set of FTO Seats.

Anyway. I need to pick a colour.

I was thinking Black with green highlights or all Cream or Tan. The black I just need to get the seats done, as dash is green, and then all the rest was already black. The Cream is a whole lot more work and cash, but would have more of a wow factor.

What are your thoughts?

I think Tan would give it more of a show car look and the black would be more oldskool tough streeter

I had a look at a green torana a little while ago that had a light tan/beige interior. Against the green I thought it was a great combination

cheers
Glenn

Im going to keep it black with green highlights, talked to the trimmer, he said I was crazy and did I win lotto. So plan is black everything with Green Dash, center console and some fiberglass work on the door trims painted green. Seats will be all black to keep the leather costs down too (more $$$ for Motor). Also want to box out the floors and vynal them but that might come later.

Moved all the Torana parts out of the oldies place to mine on the weekend. Loving getting back into it.

I have now owned MODNIZD for 10 years. This year will be the year it moves under it own power again.

Update.

Went over east for the MotoGP, as we drove over we stoped in at CRS and spent some coin.

So far this weekend I have preped the White LC engine bay and bolted the RB25 and Box back together for a trial fit. I want to see if i need to modify tunnel or if I can get away with leaving it now MODNIZD is painted. New CRS mounts fitted to the motor and I plan to remove sump tomorrow morning, drop the motor/box in the white LC and measure up for a custom sump.

I need to sort out a new shed too, working in the sun is hard work.

Well fitted up the motor/5 speed today in the white LC. Clearances look ok but I might still go top mount manifolds for more room down the side of the rails. Steering needs the be relocated, have to run a new oil return line for the Turbo. There is about a 10mm gap between the firewall and back of the motor on the pass side, but should be ok.

CRS gave me a TH700 Gearbox Cross member and said it would fit for sure even after I questioned it twice.... and it doesn't fit. So now I need to ship that back.

Trying to measure up for the new sump is not easy without the gearbox cross member!

So happy to get back into it again.

So after ringing CRS about 2 weeks ago and waiting for them to call me back (which didn't happen) I rang them again today. They want me to send back the TH700 at my expense that they sold me (after I questioned it 3 times) and they will send me the correct X Member for the RB25 Box.

So slow progress with this sump, as I don't want to fab it up until I know exactly where the box will sit. Lucky I didn't buy one from CRS. Would have ended up with a sump to suit a Capri.

I'm also reading for hours and hours about these Jap motors. Looking for high mount turbo manifolds and front facing intakes. Its not simple. Starting to wish I stuck with the V8. haha

Mate have a read on my lc in my build thread. U might find some usefully info as the s1 and s2 Rb25 engine s are all but the same. No need to go hi mount unless u want a bigger turbo. My is hi flowed and on 12 psi makes 343 hp at the wheels. I can wind it up more but no need too

I have seen yours mate. Looks tops. I think you used your own mounts right? With the CRS mounts the turbo looks like its way to close to the rail.

Well well well, after a lot of talk over the last 8 years, things are looking up.

- Build a big shed - Check

- Put in a Hoist - Check

- Reno House - Almost done

- Sell all my other projects and just buy a nice car - Check

- Marry a lady who understands I like cars - Check

So, the fun continues. Where I am now. Both LCs are now in the Shed. RB25DET is in the White dummy fit LC, yet to get it running. All body work and paint is done on Green LC. New dark leather interior out of a Alfa Romeo to be fitted up, need to modify back seats to fit. Hoppers kit ready to go on.

I am focusing on getting the Motor all sorted at the moment. I need to get a Sump made because not to happy with the CRS stuff so far, also a cross member because CRS gave me a TH700 one... not the RB. I want to buy some new manifolds for the motor, high mount and also front facing plenum. To get the motor running I need to get a new loom and engine management system I think. At this stage getting pushed to Haltech, but not cheap. :/

Time fly’s... I am still around.

Life continues to get in the way, though I can now see a window of opportunity. I'm back in the shed a few nights a week and really enjoying the time.

Unfortunately as I have been going through the boxes which I labelled well, I have found lots of parts are missing. I have put this down to when the car spent 3 years at the body shop. Not great, but I will hunt some bits down I need and go from there.
