Relax, relax, relax. What you are seeing in the vid is the reflection of the wheel of the austin in the door (take another look). Around that area of the door there is a large change in shape and it must have been just the way I was holding the camera made it look like a dent. So drama averted....

trick photography! i was sure i was seeing a dent. :D

I have a confession to make.....

I've been keeping a big secret from you all....

This build has always had a deadline associated with it, and this weekend I made it. My partner and I got married and I was able to use my car to bring her to our wedding (my dad drove). Some mates of mine from the car club also turned up in their wheels to help me out It's been a epically awesome weekend and I am just shattered. I only have a few bog standard picks to show. But stay tuned since we went on a professional photo shoot with the cars after the ceremony and got some pretty incredible photos.

This also brings me to a semi-end in this project thread. The interior/stereo assembly still needs completing (and I intend to do it) but sadly family requirements are going to mean that it may be some time before it is done. I will continue to post some updates when they happen (and eventually a thread for the austin) but for now this is the end, my friend. So thank you for everyone that has encouraged/helped me along the way (there have been many), this car represents my first foray into what will hopefully be a lifetime of rebuilding cars.

Cheers
Sam

Thanks for all the good wishes lads, I must really post round here more often. Been busy and whenever I do get on I seem to read everyone elses tech articles rather than contribute

I've said it before but, again, you've built yourself a very smart looking car & the quality of the workmanship is outstanding & a credit to you. Congrats on your wedding & all the best, look forward to seeing more of your work. Especially if it is performed on a Torana.

Mate, just flicked over this thread. This thing is a real credit to you, especially seeing as you consider yourself an 'amatuer' I'm handy with a spanner and motor but I'm worlds away from completing bodywork like that, very impressive.
Always have had a soft spot for these, a family friend had one with a built 308, olive green, vinyl roof and gold interior. I loved that car, he just did a full rebuild with a 572 BB and all the goodies, my GOD that thing is amazing.
Keep up the good work and congrats on the wedding!
