Another good reason to own a UC is the money you save on unecessary things like alarms and immobilisers. The tail lights are enough of a deterrant : )

On a hot summers day you can leave the windows down and keys in the ignition and know your car will still be there when you come back

The UC front is the WB Statesman front of the Torana line up, the last and most refined, yet nothing like the previous models.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the tail lights though.....

Unlike WB Statesmans, earlier model owners aren't falling over themselves to fit UC fronts to their cars.

no one stops you to ask "would you like to sell that?"

Not so! I took my UC hatch to get petrol after finally getting it on-road. The guy behind me in the que asked if I wanted to sell it! This with my crappy home spray job, filthy dirty and the roof in primer. He must have thought it would make a cheap project car. It is - but it's my project car.

for those that are into go rather than show and can see further than the tail lights, the UC fixed about 3000 things that were wrong/missing with the LX.

I have it on good authority that back in the day, Holden were concerned that the mainstream UC Torana buyer would be from an older generation, with poor eyesight, so they designed a much bigger dash pad in the UC that would produce much bigger cracks for these owners to cover with loop pile dash mats :)

Na you got that wrong, holden made 2999 mistakes when changing from LX to UC. Only good thing they did was change the handbrake and suppy LH LX owners with a cheap supply of boots and doors. :)

UC with an empty tank... Street value of about $20
UC with a full tank of fuel... Still worth only $20
Fill your own tank with fuel... About $80-100

With the price of fuel these days, the guy probably thought that it would be more economical to offer to buy the UC from you with a full tank of gas than it would be to fill up his own car!

You guys and girls should think yourselves lucky that holden decided to build the ultimate car.
