Just thought I would let you know that some one is trying to sell a white Torana hatchback on ebay that they dont own. It is a scam to get you to send them the money outside of ebay and then they will send you the car. It is very obvious but thought I would highlight anyway. The Chassis number they are using is ALX005054M. The two emails are below so you know what to watch out for.
Hello there and thanks for your interest,
The car is in perfect working condition, with no scratches, no rust or damage. It was always garaged and never been smoked in.The interior is very clean and the title is clear, no liens or loans. The price is $6,900 with shipping/handling included and it's not negotiable. The car is registered in Australia on my name and address but currently I am located in Rome, Italy because I just finished the divorce with my husband and i have moved here to my parents home(i own the car now).In order to make this a successful deal we will use eBay.
Here are some info about my car:
Doors: 2 doors Engine: 4.2 L V8
Transmission: Automatic Fuel Type: Petrol
VIN: ALX005054M Year: 1976
Here are some pics for you:

I would like to know from the begining if you are really interested in purchase, so i can stop negotiating with potential buyers.
If you have any further question please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you, Jessica
THE FOLLOW UP EMAIL IS:
Hi and sorry for the delay in my reply, I am literally overwhelmed by the number of offers.
I would like to thank you for your interest in buying my car and also to clear some things first of all.
The car is located in Sydney Nsw sealed and ready for shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them.
According with eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here you have the terms and conditions of the sale:
I will need the following details from you: full name(and i need your real name because i will use it for the transfer of the title), full shipping address(where you want to receive the car). After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you.
After you receive the car you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you want with the car.The final decision to buy it or not will be after the 5 days with the car at your home.If you find the car unsatisfactory at the end of the 5 days inspection period, you have the option to return it to me at my expense(i am sure it's not the case)
The car will be sent with all the papers and documents required for registration(clear title, bills of sale, car's manual,2x keys, etc). This way, you will be able to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy it and I know that you have the money and you aren't just fooling around.
If you agree with my terms and conditions, please send me an email with your full name and full shipping address to start the transaction.
Cheers
P.S. Giving the nature of this transaction please note that my sale terms are final and nonnegotiable, PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF YOU AGREE!
I have reported this to eBay and they have confirmed it is not a service they offer. Got to hate people like this but I hate them even more when they use a Torana to try and rip people off.

As much as I'd love to do this I think ebay will cancel your account for not paying up.
I live in Sydney, I wonder if she'll let me take it for a test drive?

You will notice the signed glovebox but it is hard to tell who signed it (no points for guessing though). I have told her I will not buy the car until she can tell me whose the signature is. So far no reply.
The emails I recieved are the same as above except for the cars location.
Usually I ignore these twits but I was bored.......

I realise that, it's my response to see what her reaction will be.
Maybe ask for her address in Italy, tell her you're there on holiday at the moment and want to meet with her face to face and will pay her while your brother in Sydney is inspecting the car at the same time?

It seems to appear every day about 2PM under different names.
Let us all know when the next one appears and we'll inundate her with very specific or ridiculous questions.
This could be a lot of fun, when the questions become too much maybe she'll stop.

I wonder if she would swap for a KGB Group A Uri Chuckinov Enhanced Lada Niva?
Ask her to take measurements of the centre console and if she knows off hand whether there is enough room to store your Makarov 9mm pistol.

Sounds great. Lucky for us I have a brother in Sydney who can check it out. When can he go around? I would be prepared to add a grand to the price to guarantee you will hold it.
Come on Big T, send her back something and post up the reply!!!!!

I was thinking I mention to her that there is a very similar car that was sold on Aus Muscle cars for a much higher price and what good value the Russian Toranakov is. Include the link from StephenSLR above

From the replies the scumbager has written it appears that what they really want is your personal details ie: identity theft, then sometime in the near future you'll find you owe a bank or financial institution thousands of $$$ for a loan or credit card or something that you didn't apply for.
possible but i know how they scam, they trick you into thinking they have payed money into your account so you send them money for postage. the idea is that they cant actually pay so they pay you to pay for them. but its all fake so they never really pay you.
i usually try to make the process as stressful for them as possible. just be the worst possible buyer you can be and annoy the hell out of them. once i insisted that a hilux was the best car ford ever produced, then he agreed with me, and i rolled him after that

My reply:
Hi Jessica,
I havnt had a reply yet and I am very anxious to find out perpendiculary what the afore said signature post-mohoginistic replication states?
You see to cut a long story short my great uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston worked at the Boronia Lakes Holden Plant way back in 1975 and aside from his normal job of vacuuming metal filings from the trajectory drill and saginaw lathe he used to assemble the glove bocx locks. Can you believe that !! My great uncle made to locks that go on the glove box that go on the console that go on the Torana that goes on the road and right into a shipping containing in Sydney or Perth or something and then back to my house in Devonshire Tea Gardens in Queensland. When I saw that signature I thought of a story my great uncle told me. Well, to cut a long story short, one day back in January 1976 uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston was clearing away metal filings as he did in the plant and wouldnt you know it but none other than Johnson Lowndes walks into the factory with a tray full of lamingtons and a smile from ear to ear. "Look what Shirley from the cafeteria has whipped up for us boys" he exclaimed in his gruff Northern Plains accent. Well, the boys went bananas because Shirleys lamingtons were famous from the Black Stump to Jim Craigs Hut high on the Snowy Mountains where the wild brumbies roam. Some say the colt from Old Regret is still up there but others are not so sure. I am sure you are familiar with the story as old man Harrison had a daughter named Jessica. Anyway, I digress. So there he was, covered in lathe scrap and scoffing down a lamington when the foreman approached him and said, and I kid you not " Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston, I have a job for you son. I am promoting you to chief lock assembly officer. See this here White 1976 LX SS Hatchback, I want you to assemble that there lock and on that there glovebox and as sign of your pride and commitment to the General, please sign your name on the top left handside of the glovebox lid".
So, there you go. That is why I need to know whose signature is on that glovebox because if it is great uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston's I will buy the car.
Oh, and by the way, my details are as follows:

I like the idea of absolutely bombarding these people with thousands and thousands of questions!! Spam the absolute crap out of them and maybe, just maybe they'll get sick of it every time, and stop doing it?
They have to pay for each ad so if it costs them, particularly if the high bids are false each time, they'll run out of money as long as nobody actually sends them money.

"WOW What a story !! yes i think it's his signature i don't know much but you can see that the first word is Herbert, i can't see what is next but i am sure it's Herbert the first one. Great story. Also i want you to know that i've sent your details to eBay and you will receive further info from them soon.
Thank you."
Dunno what the hell ebay is going to send me? Tony Nortonrose doesnt exist so I will be interested to see what the next installment brings. I wonder what the signed glovebox says? Herbert Brock or Herbert Firth?
