My guess is no, so that the crims can place more ads again and fill ebays coffers.
This really should be reported to the federal police and pursued with sting operations, etc.
It reminds me of the bad old days of the mobile phone, if yours was stolen Telstra would not put a block on the IMEI no. (Remember to save yours in a safe place in case of theft). Telstra knew the criminals would spend your money on international calls and this was big money for Telstra.

I havnt had a reply from Jess (I feel I can call her that as we have established quite a rapport), so I sent her another one this time with me personal details as she requested.

I havnt had a reply yet and I am very anxious to find out perpendiculary what the afore said signature post-mohoginistic replication states?
You see to cut a long story short my great uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston worked at the Boronia Lakes Holden Plant way back in 1975 and aside from his normal job of vacuuming metal filings from the trajectory drill and saginaw lathe he used to assemble the glove bocx locks. Can you believe that !! My great uncle made to locks that go on the glove box that go on the console that go on the Torana that goes on the road and right into a shipping containing in Sydney or Perth or something and then back to my house in Devonshire Tea Gardens in Queensland. When I saw that signature I thought of a story my great uncle told me. Well, to cut a long story short, one day back in January 1976 uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston was clearing away metal filings as he did in the plant and wouldn�t you know it but none other than Johnson Lowndes walks into the factory with a tray full of lamingtons and a smile from ear to ear. "Look what Shirley from the cafeteria has whipped up for us boys" he exclaimed in his gruff Northern Plains accent. Well, the boys went bananas because Shirleys lamingtons were famous from the Black Stump to Jim Craigs Hut high on the Snowy Mountains where the wild brumbies roam. Some say the colt from Old Regret is still up there but others are not so sure. I am sure you are familiar with the story as old man Harrison had a daughter named Jessica. Anyway, I digress. So there he was, covered in lathe scrap and scoffing down a lamington when the foreman approached him and said, and I kid you not " Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston, I have a job for you son. I am promoting you to chief lock assembly officer. See this here White 1976 LX SS Hatchback, I want you to assemble that there lock and on that there glovebox and as sign of your pride and commitment to the General, please sign your name on the top left handside of the glovebox lid".
So, there you go. That is why I need to know whose signature is on that glovebox because if it is great uncle Herbert Michael Akiyo Wilson-Johnston's I will buy the car.

Now that got me thinking so off to Mr Google I went to see what I can find. Lo and behold there is a site http://www.scambuster419.co.uk that is dedicated to scamming the scammer. I like. I now have enough info AND a blank WU receipt to fill out and fax to god knows where. Although this little exercise may not make a difference it is fun and helps pass the time in my otherwise rather boring day (except for the farting comp I had with a colleague during a video conference, that was rather humourous).

So yeah, my finance advisor, Brian, says he will sell some of my Telstra shares so I can get some more money for the Torana. But this is the best bit�� I spoke to Uncle Herbert today. Well didn�t he just go fruit loops when I told him the Torana he signed way back in 1976 is for sale and I will be buying it. He says to me �Tone, your pullin me flaming leg arnt ya boy� I says �nah Uncle Herb, �tis fair bloody dinkum mate. This sheila says it even has your signature still on the glovebox�. �Well stone the crows and call me Francis� Uncle Herb whispered. �I never thought I�d see that beauty again. I managed to get the plates �SEEGUL� because I reckon that with the grey and black and white the Torana looks like a sea gull and, this is the clever bit, the name Torana means �To Fly� in the Ningi-Nunga Aboriginal dialect. So SEEGUL really suits it. Its going to confuse people but because people might think it means Segal like Steven Segal the marital aids actor. Y�know, the one that does Akiyo on the baddies and he is really tall and has a pony tail. LOL, people will get confused when I get out of the car because I am short and bald and I only know origami. I photoshopped the number plates onto the photo you sent me and I printed it out at Harvey Norman and I carry a picture in my pocket. When I went to Australia Post today to do the Western Union transfer I was telling Joan the lady who server me all about it. I showed her the photo and she nearly cried. �I used to have one of them� she said. �Me and Donald bought it brand new and we loved our hatch. We even got the hatch hutch and we would go camping by the lake and would watch the swans on the lake as the sunset�. When Don passed away from the war in Nam we gave the car to our grandson who swapped it for a Brock Lada. I could have throttled the little turd�.
Anyway, Joan has done the transfer and I have the receipt but Im having trouble faxing it to you. Can I scan it and send it via email instead? It will be a bit cheaper for me to. I asked Joan if she has the computer to make sure I can track the MTCN number but she said they were upgrading the computer and the tracking function would be unavailable for this transaction. Stupid computers. I trust everything will be ok but because Joan was really nice.
Im finding hard to sleep just thinking about how ace the Torana will look in my shed. Ive never bought a car like this before, the power will be grouse.
How are you going to get the car to me from Perth or do I need to arrange transport myself? Please let me know so I can make the arrangements.

I use to get the "Ebay Motors" email with loads of special buys on it including Toranas so I sent a reply telling them to F'en off and that I had forwarded their email to my nephew who works for the Australian Federal Police (that is true) but funny enough I haven't had a replay back

G'day fella's. This is the 1st time I've ever joined a forum so hopefully I'm doing everything right. Read your post's re this one & thought I'd add a bit more. After a lot of years out of the car scene, (kids, mortgage etc) I've finally got myself financial again so I've been starting to look for a Monaro over the past month or so. Jessica also had a Monaro on Ebay that she was doing the same thing with as described in your post's. I thought it was all a bit suss so I Google searched her email address & found a link to this forum....plus a BMW ad in the Trading Post & something else on a yank website as well. There was another monaro on there being sold by a different bloke under a different email address which again didn't seem right so I did the same, i,e; Google search & guess what.......Trading Post again & the same bmw ad as Jess's but with a different email adress this time.
I spoke to the Trading Post & the bloke there told me ad in question had been removed as it had been deemed to be fraudulent. I've reported it to Ebay & also to WA Scamwatch but thought I'd register here to spread the word on the other email address as the more who know about it, the less chance some poor bugger's got of being ripped off. I know how long a road it's been for me to get back to the point where I can afford another car & how gutted I'd be if I got dudded by a scumbag like this. Anyway, email address to look out for is [email protected]
This bloke identifies himself as SGM. Chris Brady & apparently he's deploying to Afghanistan shortly. Both the cars I followed up on were removed as soon as I replied & then turned up again on Ebay a couple of days later. There were also another 2 Monaro's on there which were possibly dodgy, but were removed before I could record the email addresses attached to them.
Try the Google searches on both his email & Jess's & see how you go for similarities.
