I cant possibly be the only person here who thinks this is the most likely scenario.

I presume you will all be lining up to buy this vehicle?

There is a thread here about rexy's contribution to the forum - See Here

Alisha, is there any local lc/lj Torana experts to you that could give you a hand identifying the car? No need to sell the car if it has no problems with rego etc now. One way or another you'll be able to track down the originality of the car.

Good Luck!

Hi Matt,

Good to see daycare is out early.

"if none are where they are normally then most likely car is stolen as no one removes numbers for any other reason," See post 21 in this thread.

Addition of non holden vin is the most suss part of all.

I hope the current party is an innocent downstream buyer and I am not asserting otherwise. Given the suspicion thrown about in other threads about other vehicles I cannot believe any of the "in the know" people here would take a chance on this car now.

Go ahead, prove me wrong and stump up your own hard earned cash.

Ok first of all if this car was stolen it would be on record with the police files then when she bought the car when it was transfered in her name it would of come up if it was stolen.
and i shall restrain myself from not getting into a shit fight with a certain moron

Yeah Alisha, PM what you paid for it. Adam, your missus will have kittens if you bring another home :P
Obviously it has been accepted by Transport WA, and there is no way of discovering what it used to be in full detail. We can tell it appears to be an ex-GTR. That's all I need. And that's all TMR in QLD need too.

Just means there is a shonky LC GTR out there wearing the tags off this one.

Grant..

this car MAY have been in a big front end crash,

tags on front panel destroyed, inner guard destroyed etc,all panels replaced.

usually when something has been stolen, the crim puts full matching numbers off another car on the hot one.

go adam, looks like what your after if price is right.

dude i stumped up my hard earned cash and BOUGHT the car 5 years ago. Iv been trynig to find the history out on it which is why im asking. im pretty sure after all the years toranas have been around there would be more than a few missing thier tags for innocent reasons. The person i bought the car off could of done anything with tags, for all i know before i bougth it, it may have been in an accident, the tags could of been stolen from the car. There are so many reasons for missing tags and old cars can have new vehical identification numbers think of kit cars.

The WA dpi may be able to tell you when the car was first registered with the current VIN and possibly why.
