She looks like its pretty straight from those pics, you got yourself a good deal.

You got a bargain from a wrecking yard, they wont come around too often (Bargains, and hatches)

OooooHHH maaaaaattttteee!!!!!

What is the colour? Dont think I have ever seen a hatch in that colour?

Cheers, Leakey

The main places I found rust, in the first photo the rust was covered by fibreglass.
The second photo shows where the previous owner cut other rust out.

http://www.cardomain...9124_8_full.jpg

http://www.cardomain...124_27_full.jpg

And yes the car is in primer. The last owner had done alot of work for me, but it all needed to be redone. It had a 202 in it with the disc brake front end put in, I turfed that motor straight away because it is going to have a V8.

At the moment I am waiting to paint it, I have taken it to 2 painters and been stuffed around so much that I am going to paint it myself. Hopefully the base coat will go on over the week end.

I have allready rebuilt a 253 and 4 speed to go in it but this is only a temporary motor. I bought a set of weld draglites for $900 out of the trading post and have had all of my interior retrimmed.

My 9 inch diff is in but they stuffed it up when they shortened it and my brake callipers hit the shockies. so I am waiting for them to send me new modified backing plates for the vn callipers which will now have to in front of the axle.

I have also got the engine and gearbox in the car, so as you can probably guess I am keen to get it painted.

Like I said before I and putting all my photo's on car domain at the moment so I will put up more pictures as I can.

I also got the car registered as a V8 the other day but I have to tell the story.

My torana turns out to be registered as a four cylinder........
motor registration office told me to get a police check......
so I did
The secetary at the local police station checked the engine number on the computer, and said thats registered in a car you own......
So the engine check passed with flying colours.
Then she checked if the chassis number was ok...
That came up NOT STOLEN..

she stamped the paper and said go register it....

WOOHOO!!!!!!!

I got to the rego office and filled out the paper work and gave it to the guy.
he said why did you need an engine check????
told him coz I changed the motor.... and the colour
He punched a few buttons and said no worries.

REGISTERED

Then he says "shit this is a four cylinder, you need disc brakes and a roadworthy check", But he allready registered it......
he let me go and I now have a registered V8 torana...

Looks like a good project hatch, and youre starting with Radial Tuned Suspension [if the glove box lid is correct for the car], and the dash hasnt been cut out for a radio.

Ill look out for updates, nice..regards

Great buy and good to see another hatch on the road. Any thoughts on what colour you're going to paint it,

Regards,

Mick.

Do you have any more photos of the wheels? I intend to run some of those on my LX but I haven't got them off my mate yet.
