Hi LS1 Hatch just a quick queston i know you dont import to port kembla but who would you recondmend to import a 38ft bertram boat also what would be a ball park cost be for a boat that size be the cost of the boat is around 80 grand.
cheers sting

One of my customers just purchased a 26 foot welcraft ( can't Remember where in USA)
He paid 40 for the boat (6 years old)
Cost him $25000 for the company to pickup the boat clean, shrink wrap, take to port,
That included shipping handling customs gst tax the works and that was to Darwin
As for 38 footer I wouldn't know but thats a ball park figure I'm guessing at least double due to the height, width and weight (and the fact that it won't be on a trailer.

To be considered 'parts' ....really you'd want to have the engine out, forks off, etc.

<cough>

:)

Just a heads up...my next batch of a bunch of containers will be in June, but I am going to be doing a container shortly now as well...be loading in a week or two it looks like, so if anyone needed anything sent, just say!

Will be loading a week from tomorrow (and the following day) for sure, so not much time, but if anyone needs something that can get here sort of quick...I can get it loaded and on the way there.

Thanks

A bare frame ?  What sort of value on it ?

And just so you know...it would go in as a "part" so you would have no import approval on it, with compliance stuff and all..

Frame plus suspension to make it rolling
Value around 5k (depending on manufacturer)
Im doing some research apparently they are registed as custom or home made units

A rolling bike is considered a vehicle (technically), and hence can't be shipped unless you knew someone with compliance on what ever brand it was to sign it in. (as a complete rolling setup that is)   Again, could be sent as parts, unassembled...if you buy a frame and some forks and some wheels, it's not up to me if you put them together down the track,.... :)

Again though, will not have any import paperwork to the frame.

You'd be looking at around $1800 to land it, give or take until I knew how it was packed/size, etc.

what about a car trailer ?

New from Texas Trailerman - Ironworks car trailer.

http://www.texastrai...n.com/New27.htm

can't build that here for that cost.

Trailer is too wide to fit into a container is the only thing, so would have to go roll on-roll off....would have to do some checking on a price for you on that with dimensions of the trailer itself.

Only other way that may work, is pull the guards off, pull the axles out, and put it in a container...depending how wide the actual deck is, Hmmmmm....

Container is 92" wide inside....

How much would a similar one be worth there ?  MIght not be worth the costs to get it back ?  (unless it is a huge price difference of course)

pricing a build right now, just the suspension and braking compenents come to 3800 + gst.

need to now get steel costs and labour to weld it.

I'm thinking final budget a coffee short of 10 K. And this is for a non tilting trailer.

Ouch...that is a big amount !

Leave it with me for a few days and I will see if any other short cut ways come to mind.  (picked up my mate from Melbourne today at the airport, and we are getting stuck into things already....plus a swap meet this weekend (Saturday and Sunday)...
