Grant

The front 1/4 window metal fittings are glued to the glass and the fibre washer goes on the inside.

Yes Grant I am 100% sure of what I said. The chrome fittings are glued to the outside of the 1/4 window glass and the fibre washers go under the two pivot fitting screw heads and the latch bolt retaining nut on the interior side of the glass.

What glue they used I do not know.

I have a pivot fitting here from my original 1/4 windows and it still has remnants of the glue on it. Will see if I can get a close up shot of it when my camera battery has recharged.

Remnants of the adhesive on the top pivot fitting. As you can see the adhesive has yellowed with age.

Dave,

thanks for that, I did have the parts this way but changed them and now will have to re do them, it's like a PVA glue but PVA will go clear and then white with moisture.

I may try to get a thin clear plastic and cut to size and then put on.

DOH - go with first attempt and continue

Ahhh nothing like doing a job twice

There is a new product on the market that I think would be ideal for the job. It's a super strong sealant/adhesive called T-REX. It comes in three colours, grey, white and clear, and the clear is so clear that between 2 pieces of glass you wouldn't know there is adhesive in there. It comes in a 300gm cartridge and costs around $15 from Reece plumbing supplies.

Grant, I can't find the 'other ones' on the Rares site, only the Acorn type that they have listed as being for LJ.

The LJ nuts should have a recessed black dot in the outer end of the chrome nut.
