Aside from personal taste the problem with wheels that big is that they are significantly larger rolling diameter - we are used to 14" to 18" wheels which are all roughly the same size with suitable profile tyres and that simply isn't possible with 22".

As for the Hotwires they are awesome and one of the true muscle car wheels, the only thing better than 15" wide Hotwires would be 16" Simmons V5s. :buttrock:

Interesting comment about channelling a Torana, might require a bit of a chassis re-build (build?) first though!

I do agree with the comments about each to their own - I think its great that not everyone does the traditional thing, I can build a car that has the same old look and be unique because everyone else is trying to be different (but mine will look better)! :P

I read a editorial in a magazine recently (extreme holdens possibly?) and he had a rant about people doing something different just for the sake of being different... sometimes different isnt always better and there is a reason why people dont do it that way... His advice was to stick to proven formulas... But just do it Better.

I partly agree... but there still needs to be innovation and people trying new things. but hey massive wheels on a car arnt new... its been done before and it failed before

Each to their own... wheel size to me is measured in width, not diameter. That's just nigger g-unit-ness

WTF, why should a Jap car have to deal with mistreatment like that?

Just don't do it to anything, problem solvered.

In the current street machine there is a mustang with 20's front and 22's rear and it actually pulls it off... Unless it's just a trick of photography

^^ I know what you mean!

I have to say, I like tyres........ They really suit cars well.
Black rubber bands don't seem to suit cars at all though.

Blue Torry at the servo is a pretty obvious photoshop haha...You westerners are 20 years behind ey :P

Its not about not 'living in the seventies', its about what actually looks good and practical on the car. Toranas need big tyre walls, it suits them better then any massive chrome or billet wheels and it actually looks like its practical. Especially with the torana being such a small car, massive wheels make it look like a toy and ridiculous. I even think 17s are pushing it with certain types of wheels.

Yea I think it depends on the car, I've seen a few monaros with some big billets (19's or 20's) and look good. As long as you can get the car reasonably low still and have some rubber also 40-50 series at least (depending on tyre width of course)
