about 11 ago i had a Atlantis Blue SS hatch 5ltr m21 2.78 diff it was built late 77, had flares but no rear spoiler, slate trim, fantastic car ,totally regret selling it. The car went to melbourne where the new owners were going to put a geniune vn grp A engine and 6spd in, as well as some stupid latest commonwhore trim and change the color and 9inch, i was totally pissed when they told me their plans but the deal had been done, last rego i know was FOS935 vic, green & white plates. cheers Gary

Just did a rego check for ya chrom yella, there is no record of that registration number, so i'm presuming it either now has custom plates or the previous registraion has lapsed and they have re-registered it and it now has new rego number...

A Royal Plum L31 SS, that would have to be very rare!

HF1000 the prototype A9X black hatch that lives in a northern vic river town was royal plum originally'
Also i know of one L31 manual ss that lives 20kms from me

I've got a tuxedo SS with a trrim of 2214-18X, I know the 18X but does the 2214 mean it had orange stripes? The 18X means I have all black interior with cloth seats which I do but I have a chamois roof lining which according to the parts manual is a neutral option for 18X which had a black head lining. Is this neutral option shown any where?

2214 is just the Holden paint code for Tuxedo Black
if the trim is black the roof lining should be too

Standard Accent stripe colours for the Tuxedo Balck were Silver / Black
XY9 Neutral Headlining was onily available with 18V/ 18X

Thanks mick for the info, looks like I have the XY9 as my trim is 18x but I have chamois roof lining and sun visors, although the bulletin is dated 1977 where mine is 7/76. Bit confused on the 2214, isn't this partof the trim code separate to the exterior paint code?

From the Parts Book...
TRIM CODE: : Interior paint colour & trim combinations
I think that it is a little confusing as with my Antelope Hatch, the Interior Trim colour on the Tag is Antepole but the actual interior trim colour is Chamois.

It's interesting what you say about the stripes on yours as the paperwork that I have here says;
"Decals Mandatory for 8VD77 & must be shown on order form"

Norm may be able to shed light on your 7/76 dated car as I think that he has the earlier list of combination charts.

When I say it had no stripes they had probably been removed as it had been resprayed when I bought it, I'm sure it had them new. I guess interior paint colour means all the plastic bits such as console, dash and any painted metal, so 2214 would be black. My LX 76 parts book shows the neutral headlining option for 18X, just no numbers or how to identify it.

Not all cars with black trim had black roof lining my Papaya SS L20 witch has been in the family since 1982 has a beige roof lining.

Hi all..

I have an original LX8VD77 Tuxedo L31 M21 GU7 hatch you can add to the list.

Trim 2214-18V

Paint 568-15991

Built 4/76.

Its never had flares fitted. I have had it for 11 years now, for the last 6 it's been off the road, prior to that it was my daily driver. When i purchased it, it was gunmetal grey and had a 4.2 in the bay. so i am missing the original block. It still had the M21, and the 2.78 fine spline lsd in it. Shortly after getting it home i fitted a 308 T350 combo i had in another hatch just to keep me happy..

When i took it off the road it got metal finished and painted with 9 coats of black, with crystal clear coat on top. Painter was stoked to find that the car had never rusted or crashed, so was i..... Still not finished yet, but not too far away....
