Hey Brad.
Just looking at your pics . It looks similar the radiator I have . The rad that I have is from a 308 HZ Kingwood SL . It was a hamburger with the lot , It's a 3 core with the fittings down the bottom for auto trans . up the top near filler, its been plugged . That's where the switch for the electric fan for a/c screws into . I had to trim side mounts so it would fit between rails . the gap at the top , I just formed some aluminium the length ot the radiator and bolts to support panel . some foam tape on under side to stop chaffing on radiator .

Nice work mate! The only pic I have is of my incorrect H series radiator.. I have no idea what the correct Torana side bands look like.... Finger crossed some one on here has a Torana radiator they could take a pic of for me??

Thanks again for helping out!

daves only got a kingers one. It needs to be the two row rad. As ive never seen or assembled a torry one( has always been h seires into torrys ive done) i need to double check what the bands look like. I have a set with and without mounts for fan cowling for the two row narrow tank.

Wow.... Really taken back by your assistance here guys!!! Yes would need to be two core so I can retain the fan finger guard as im running the stock metal fan blade. I guess even the 6cyl rads would have the same mount setup?

brad you can also run a three core
with the original skinny tanks
and side braces
thats what i did when removed the original
think from memory my radiator guy got
new copper tanks for the core and we
just unpicked the surround
still got the a9x close row 2 core at mums
you may need a three core up there!
cheers

This is the fan guard I'm going to run:

Id love to run a 3 core Dave, would be great if I can find the stock 2 core tanks!! But finding a 2nd hand V8 2 core radiator to use for parts is going to be a mission......

That looks like a ford fan gaurd. You can get a three core for the narrow tanks and ive got the business owner checking for tank at his store and you can buy new tanks but they are adrad tanks not natra ones.

Looks like my V8 rad had been botched up abit in the past

So might not be too good as a sample

Pics are of V8 and 6 cyl rad for you anyway

The first one looks like aftermarket H series (hard to tell from the cobwebs lol) second one has the bands and tanks same as V8 Torana from the looks of it but the bands look modified...

I slipped this crappy radiator in yesterday just to sus things out a bit more.

3 core def wont fit under this fan guard.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I think the max it could sit rearward is 2 1/4in from the upper radiator support.

Posted Image

This type of mount dosnt help things much. Needs to be flat.

Posted Image

I think this is what it should look like?

Posted Image

Spoke to a fella at the radiator shop here, he reckons he has sourced some 2 core manual upper/lower tanks new. He can get cores fine also. Was thinking HR sidebands could be used?? I dunno....? Hard when I cant get the car into him and have nothing to go off...

the top picture Datao put up is a factory air radiator with the little clip for the fibreglass fan shroud. The one Hanra posted is aftermarket HQ_WB

Welby yours looks like a factory airone but with HQ_WB bands. It looks like the sensor hole has been plugged

Brad your 3 core isnn't Torana, a Torana one sits flush against the radiator support. The fan shroud won't fit because 3 care radiators in Toranas were onlt for factory air and they had a fibreglass fan shroud.

Tanks are available new but not natra tanks, they will be aftermarket adrad tanks. I've already check with warehuses unless someone has some sitting around. I'll post some pics of what I have if someone can double check they are right.

Got some manual tanks sorted so no un used holes. Getting a core made up that the radiator fella said is close to the efficiency of a 3 core. Now the big task of finding side bands.....
