Yeah that's pretty insane. If I had my way I woulda got my car at 12... after two years of constant nagging I got it. :) (Had the money all along too!)

I drive my torrie from adelaide to canberra and back last year and I bought a car bra specifically for the trip. Well worth my money. Be nice if you could get whole car car-bras :P a car suit or something! Trucks and cars throwing rocks from the other direction can hit anywhere on the body. I did get one or two chips because of this.

Well it might be interesting to note that there IS a product that is sold at most Opposite Lock 4X4 stores (cant remember the name) that you wipe on and it peels off like glad wrap!

They put it on all their 'pretty' 4 wheel drives to prevent scratches and stone chips...

Not cheap though...

Might be worth putting some on your rear 1/4's and sills to keep them looking nice without mudflaps if she's a daily driver. After a few years my q's 1/4's are looking a little sad and chipped.

There's a bloke down in Vic who does "invisible car bras". Don't have time to go into it now but he did a bit of a demonstration at one of our VTC meetings as a guest speaker. Good results but they are bloody expensive.

Like contact but you can barely see where is starts and finished, and it's tough material too!

Hey guys! Exciting news - i got my new exhaust system today! Stainless steel from the muffler to the end... Looks nice and sounds great! Its 2 1/2" all the way with twin flanges so i can drop the centre pipe for when i go to the drags!

How cool!

Cheers anyway!

Yeah, its a bugger hey... I really wanted it to be pointing level, but it has a slight angle downwards on it... Nevertheless, it looks good!

I've also got a set of drag rims now too, with great tyres on them (for when i go to the drags - obviously)... They are 14" X 7" Hotwires with 235/60 Toyo's on them! Picked them up for a bargain and i spent all night last night polishing them - have a look!

Posted Image

Their sole purpose is for the drags, i dont think hotwires will suit my UC somehow...

thats a big wheel :) it will probably make a noticable difference in gearing ....

handy to have a dedicated set of tyres though, that way burnouts and so forth arn't going to stuff your street tyres.

oh one thing i noticed in your engine pic, you have the PCV hose going into the holley, as per normal, but usually when you do this you should have the oil filler cap as a breather cap, otherwise that cap you are using will most probably not allow any air .... we had the same thing on my partners car a while back, everytime you turned the car off it would make a hissing sound till the vacuum pressure resided ..... removing the oil cap would make a nice sound too like truck brakes :)

And YES i have my new GMH-TORANA sticker on the car, the other two small ones i have are in decision on where they should go yet!

I've put mine here.......
Posted Image

Posted Image

Yeah, I know it's not a 4dr, and they probably won't fit on your 1/4 windows, but if you make it a 2 line sticker?.......

Love what you've done with your ride keithy, great stuff!

Cheers! I think the small ones JUST fit the 1/4 windows... hang on ill go check... yeah they do, but ive got some stickers in the way already so thats a no go!!

I have a set of 16" by 7" simmons B45's on order now too... will look sweet i rekon!

Plus i have a Brown Davis 120lt drop tank in mind too.... Then a new cam and the triple carby's fitted/dyno tuned and some more detailing work... Then the interior (which is alright for now anyway)!!

B45 Simmons I reckon will look really good, they will compliment the car nicely. It would be a custom drop tank to fit the UC floor though but it would clean up the back and be more symetrical, rather than the wheel well and the tank side by side.

Awsome!!! :spoton: , its gonna look tough as,

wen i took u for a drive down the street my car was running 5cylinders  replaced the rooted spark plug and it stoped smokin aswell.

those tyres will probably make your time slower doen the 1/4, because they are reasonably tall, my 225/60/15's and a 3.08 diff on my LH give 100km/h in first gear!

Peter - yeah, the B45's will look great! I think its just what my UC needs to bring it up to tip top shape! I'm pretty sure they make 2 types of tanks, the ones where you dont have to modify your spare wheel well, and the one where you just cut it out and it ends up like an LX floor... I'm not 100% on the one 'ol mate has quoted me on, but its 120lt, so its gotta be huge!

Nathan - It sounds a bit louder than yours (not by much though)... Probably just new pipe making it echo a bit more! Its beasty though, you can hear the burble heaps more now! I love it! For some reason people seem to want a race, want me to smoke the tyres and want me in general now (all because of a simple exhaust upgrade)!

Makka - My best of 14.852@95mph was on my 225/60/14's with a 3.08:1 diff, on my 165/70/13's i ran a 15.5@85mph with nothing but wheelspin... I have a feeling that the new hotwires with their 235/60/14 tyres wont make too much difference from the 225's im currently running... Should get a bit more traction from them at least! Well.... i'll soon find out anyway, im off to the drags on the 17th (of this month), so yeah hopefully ill better the 14.8!!

hell yeah man! are you still running the 465 holley? Maybe thats why you're losing all your spark plugs - fouling them cos it could be running too rich...

Its a 390, definatly not too big :D would probly run even better with a bigger one. im getting a tad better at tuning my holley now lol

i think its my cut off switch, i use to leave it on accidently for a minit or 2 if the car died. just a Wire straight from battery to coil. spark plugs would have been 10 000km old and needed replacing anyway.

:spoton:

wen do ur new wheels arrive, cant wait to see some pics :D

Simmons are building them now... give it about 2 to 3 weeks and they should be on my car! I'm gonna be running Hankook Ventus K102 tyres in 225/45 on the rear and 205/45 on the front! Should look quite nice! Then i will have a total of 13 drag/skid/whatever rims and tyres! I have 5 stock 13 by 6's, 4 14 by 7 hotwires and will have my 4 14 by 7 globes too... Maybe i should sell some wheels....

Hey guys! Being a Sunday - i thought i'd wash and polish the UC, here are the results...

Using Meguiars "Deep Cyrstal - WET LOOK" polish i could say with all honesty that my car has never looked better! I used tyre shine on the bumper inserts and around the window rubbers and tyres. The results speak for themselves...

And i had to take it for a drive and show her off... So me and the fellas (see next pic) loaded up and off we went! Took the camera in case we saw some nice rides! We saw a few, but old tony was a bit slow with the camera, so we dont have many photos! Here you go!

And when cruising, i stumbled upon this ford XR8 ute... Looks alright on the outside and sounds like a V8 - right? WRONG, this ute is packing something special because he wheelspun through first second and into third gear, all while putting me back in my place... It had some strange hissing noises from the engine bay region! Moral of the story is that SOME fords are dangerous!

Enjoy!
