Yes, you want something with a bigger stroke than a 253/308 or you may as well keep the 2F! And if you are keeping a manual something with an 11" flywheel eg Falcon 6, Hemi 6, SBC etc if changing from the original.

Been a while...
This project is no longer going to be ghetto. It has turned into a full body off resto as it now lives in a shed, not my backyard.
