It’s on again!!
Yes, Toranafest 2013 is in full swing, and we would like to extend an invitation to you once again, to be a part of this great event! This year’s show is shaping up to be one of our best!
As part of our show this year, we will be celebrating our 20 years of the ‘Fest!
Toranafest has grown more and more over the past few years to nothing short of a Festival of Torana!!
This year it will be held over the weekend Saturday/ Sunday the 14th and 15th September 2013. Apart from the usual Show and Shine on the Sunday, once again we have incorporated a few other things this year. With the great support that we had last year from those that travelled interstate, some of you may want to make this a weekend away. As well as the Toranafest Show and Shine on the Sunday, we will once again be having the very popular Toranafest Cruise on the Saturday afternoon, as well as the Toranafest “Legends Dinner” on the Sat Night.
Saturday 14th September 2013
Toranafest Cruise
This has become a popular event to start the weekend off! This year the cruise will be to another great location in Newcastle, devoid of traffic lights and some open roads! All up it will be a round trip of approx. 70kms. This is open to all entrants to Toranafest and usually involves those staying at Motto Farm Motel as well as other local entrants. The venue for this year will provide some perfect photo opportunities. Last year saw just under 200 Toranas take part and the sight of these cars going through Stockton was outstanding!
If you are interested in being part of the Cruise, please email us at: [email protected]
Toranafest "Legends Dinner”
This year’s event will be a three course dinner, to be held in the function room at Moto Farm Motel, the night will be a relaxed affair in comfortable surroundings where guests can simply relax and talk about their favorite hobby, their Torana!!
It is also an opportunity to rub shoulders with the VIP’s and sponsors of Toranafest and to hear from some of the greats of yesteryear. There will also be the traditional auction plus a lucky seat prize and a special memento for all attendees to help the Hunter Valley Torana Club celebrate the 20th running of Toranafest! Again, this will be a great night and we hope to see you there!
The cost of the Dinner is TBC and will be around the $55 - $65 per head.
If you are not staying at Motto Farm, and would like to attend the Legends Dinner, please contact Moto Farm Motel at: [email protected] or call Paul on 1800 131 735.
Numbers are limited to the Legends Dinner, so be quick!
Sunday 15th September 2013
Toranafest Show and Shine
The Toranafest 2013 Show and Shine will be held on Sunday September 15th 2013. As with previous shows, we will be located on the Shortland lawn area off Wharf Road, opposite Newcastle Tugs.
Like previous years, we will have a stellar line up of VIP's for you to talk to. Trade stands will circle the area and add to the atmosphere of teh event.
The entry fee for Pre-entrants is $40 and entry on the day, is $30. Please note that entry on the day will not get a T-shirt or goody bag. Last year we had 296 entrants and ran out of both shirts and goody bags, with this year’s numbers looking to be just as huge,
I strongly urge you to enter ASAP!!
Accommodation
We have secured accommodation at the Motto Farm Motel, at a great rate for entrants and their families. There is a limit of 80 rooms at this location and it might be best to organise this sooner rather than later. We have been told that car trailers are welcome there, and facilities are available for car washing. Accommodation ranges from single rooms to a family room of 6. For further details and prices, please contact Paul at Motto Farm Motel on 1800 131 735 or [email protected]
Note: If you are part of a Car club that is coming en masse then you will need to talk to your club’s point of contact as the clubs will be making the bookings on your behalf.
As more information comes to hand, we will post it on here.
cheers
Mick
