Sure did.  But only the rear bar. But several members in our club have bought front and rear from them too and are very happy with the quality.

Finally got around to changing the diff centre.

Going From 3.5:1 with a mini spool,

To Richmond Excel 3.89:1 gears with a Powertrax GT109028 TRU trac.

I also found out that Richmond make (or own the company) that do the Powertrax GT109028.

I had the centre rebuild over at Craft Diffs in Sydney, and they gave me $100 for my old gears, the guys in there are good guys and happy to help and provide advice.

I have 3:89's in mine too.  They are a bit on the noisy side (apparently common for 3.7 and 3.9's) but good for acceleration :-).  And extremely good when you have an overdrive like i do.

I have a 5 Spd, so it should be ok, although I think I should have gone 4.11:1.

The gears didnt seem to be heard over the exhaust, although I was only putting around for its first half an hour run-in at maximum 60 km/h.

When I backed it out of the garage and turned it full lock, I was so happy . . . . . No Locked diff anymore . . . . . . . . . . .

Depends on whether you intend to drag race it too..I have to shift mine into overdrive just before the finish line and that is revving it to 6200rpm..3:7's would have probably been better for me. 4:11's are too wild for a street car my liking.

Anyway, enjoy the change, you will have some fun for sure :-)  Especially without the locker :-)

Hi Ken,

Those wheels look great!
Thanks foe doing such a nice job on your car, encourages me!

What brakes are you upgrading from?
Do you already have some sort of Commodore set up?

I am trying to work out how to put 16in Commodore wheels on mine

Cheers, Tom

Hey guys thanks for the positive comments.

I'm setting it up to run HQ Stub axles, UPC Hubs, Rear VE 350mm Rotors and the AP Calipers.

I am upgrading from the HQ setup with Girlock calipers.

Unfortunately the set-up im making is abit of a one off, as I got the front wheels made with a custom offset to clear my brakes. The wheels are to suit HQ setup, but u wouldnt be able to run this brake set-up with standard offset front wheels.

Got some brackets made up for this, I just need to make some spacers to weld to the brackets, and then All I need is brake lines.

Cheers Tom,

Ive convinced myself to finish this car, I'm going to pull off the nose cone, Paint the Engine Bay, relocate the wiper motor, do the K-frame swap, and then put it all back together.

then I might be "finished"

Nice brake setup!

I got my wheels and built my brakes to suit, not sure if that way or brakes first is an easier way to go, lol..

UFO, are you getting your car engineered? I was led to believe that caliper bracketss (dogbones) are not to be welded in any shape of form. Victoria anyway. Others can help clarify.

I am just running spacers, I dont really need to weld them so I think i'll just bolt them in like that.

The brackets I made up are similar and I welded the spacers, not sure if it was needed, but was just a bit of piece of mind to me to try and help stiffen things up I thought.. (If I had the means, would have made the brackets one piece carved out of one block, but don't have a CNC, sooooo...)
