Nice looking front end Ken  :spoton:

I don't know too much about shock differences etc.. so what are the benefits of fitting those QA1's you've got there over a standard shock/spring setup? Is it ok for street driving, and do they come as a complete setup with spring/shock ready to bolt in?

Cheers  :D

Hi UFO 304,
Just finished reading your thread back to back. Nice work mate. You're right about having 1000 little jobs to finish. I'm in the same boat. Getting close!

Im hoping so !!!

I figured i'd go as modern as I could without replacing anything that isnt easily un-boltable......

Looks awesome Ken, a massive improvement. I've seen those type of wheels on my hairdressers husbands old Celica. I thought they would good on a Torana and was thinking of a change down the track. Paint looks great too mate, good job.

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for the positive feedback. There seems to be a lot of negativity towards putting 18's onto a Torana!

The back are 265/35/18 and has enough room to fit 275, possibly even 285 without scrubbing. this is without any tubbing, The guards have been rolled.

I never thought you could go that wide without flares but its definitely possible.

Front are 235/40/18 which is the same rolling diameter as the rear. They clear the firewall seam (which has been folded back flat) but slightly scrub on the rolled section of the guards but only at full lock and on uneven ground.. so Im pretty happy with that . . . . .

What type of rims are they Ken? Whats the backspace and width of the front and rear rims as well? Cant remember what type of rims were on my hairdressers hubby's car but they definitely weren't ROH. All those changes are a massive improvement on your car and what about that big arse drop tank, whats the capacity of that?

Thanks guys!!!

rims are 18x8" front, 18x8-1/2" rears

i know the rears are zero offset, the same distance both ways from the hub face, front is pretty much standard.

Drop tank is 100L.
