Switcho ?

Who knows mate, but I don't know myself or willing to tell anyone what I do know to help them do a bodge job.

If you never intend to sell it why would you care about the differences? hmm?

If it needs a rebody do it and be honest about it.

Fair enough. Honestly not trying to do anything silly here, and totally understand what you guys are saying. I'm simply just trying to find out if it's worth investing what would be years of my time and money into fixing this car to the best I can.
I do appreciate you guys help.

Thought I was being honest about it. No?

For what it is worth there was a lj on here a while ago... Parked in a lounge room... Apparently one owner xu1(from memory).

When tag details were finally revealed.... Nope, it was a GTR. Mdont take the owners word for it, go get some pics of the car and tags, post em up, and then you will get a proper response, as opposed to pure wild guesstimates, mine included!

anything fixable..15k sounds about right if its all there... I paid 18 for my LC XU-1 and it was deemend unfixable... But in saying that..I have spent over 900 hours on the body repairs alone..and Im always finding more things to fix..

The identifiers are a well kept secret to catch people out.. evey year and evey model had some slight changes to the cars..

Im not telling either :furious:

It's ok, I don't want you guys to tell me exactly what the changes were model to model. It was more out of curiosity than anything.

Sorry if I came on a bit strong mate, I don't like dodgy fr0cks and we've had a few on here over the years.

For your own piece of mind, make sure you get someone to have a look for you, you don't have to post pics publicly if you don't want, there are guys you can PM who will be able to tell you for sure, and can tell you what pics to get for them.

They scared the sh!t outta me when I first put up pics of my GTR, but once I explained a couple of things it all made sense.  :P

Thanks again. Do not worry, I honestly 100% understand where you guys are coming from.
That combined with my newness here I do not blame you guys at all. I will take as many pics as I can. I must mention though, it is also unlikely the owner will let me take many detailed pics of the car. I will do my best.

Year & month from the ADR tag would be a good place to start.

I know, I'm just not sure as yet if the owner will actually let me take a whole bunch of pictures of the car at his house. Without actually buying it.
But like I have said, I will do my best.
In saying that, and do not take this the wrong way. I have never asked if somebody could verify the authenticity of the car for me.
But I do appreciate you guys trying to make sure I don't purchase something that isn't what it supposed to be. First thing I need to know, is what ball park I should expect to pay for what I described. Once I know what I should expect to pay, then I can go about seeing if I can get it for that much, if not, I don't even bother researching it or wasting my time.

Here is my old car. It had a Chrysler 265 hemi in it. Yes it was a good car. Would drive it to the track, run 12s, drive it home.

Nice!

What colour is that?

And did you crash it or sell it?

If you sold it someone will probably know it, especially with a Hemi in it  :spoton:

No, I sold it. I would love to find it. It is in the 'dude where's my car' section.
It is a Subaru colour called Polka Red.

Here is a pic of the engine bay. This was before we made some extractors to fit the car so it still had the factory exhaust manifold on it here.

In WA? Still has the same rego plate on it in the last pic as I did when I sold it so I'm assuming it's in nsw.
