Cheers mate, I'm undecided...chances are I will fit a much smaller aftermarket heater box under the dash and I will just make some blanking plates for the old holes.

Not much progress since I got the car home...just been refitting some of the easy bolt on items. Also did the very tedious job of masking up my headlight surrounds for the blackouts. Have started modifying my steering column too...will be using an LJ column with the ignition barrel removed (so it looks like LC) and an LJ GTR steering wheel fitted.

Ok, little update...

-Finished painting the blackouts on my headlight surrounds (what a pain in the arse to mask up properly)

-Got my LJ steering column (Thanks to Limo) removed the ignition barrel to give LC look and fitted my GTR wheel

-Trial fitted my quarter windows with freshly polished latches (need to get my rubber kit now)

-Had my bumpers polished (check out the before and after) glad I didn't spend a grand re chroming or getting new ones

-Fitted my freshly polished gutter trims to the car

Cheers

I've been a little slow of late, fitted my rally stripes up today and really happy with the look and fit (thanks to Pops SS).  I fitted my front and rear bumpers and just been playing around with small bits and pieces, like fitting glove box and other boring stuff. Im on holiday for the next couple weeks so hopefully make some good progress, cheers.

OH damn that looks good! Would have been nice to see a polished grill.

How did they get the bumpers looking like that?

Yeah I still need to polish the grill to the same level as the headlight surrounds...

Any competent metal polisher should be able to revive bumpers to the same level, only cost me $40, beats spending a grand on new ones.

Cheers

Yeah but they are steel. Did he polish the chrome? Im surprised they retained their coating.

Were they dented at all?

Yea he polished the original chrome, fortunately the quality workman ship back in the day lasted, not just a cheap thin layer of chrome as would be expected these days. I was lucky to have bumpers without dents and only very minor chrome pitting...there not show quality but nice for a street car.

Wow what a good job. I'm just a bitter prick who has rubbed of the chrome on every piece he has tried to polish! glad you were able to revive them, what a price!

Colour looks fantastic, too. I am very jealous. Love orange on the LJ, not sure about the LC so will keep a close eye on this!

Thanks for the kind comments guys...ive been a little slack lately, must be the cold weather!

However I have managed to clean and paint my headlight buckets and then fitted my headlights, front of the car is starting to look good. I also refitted the glass to my rear side window frames, I used some rubber strip from Clarke rubber for the seal, was an absolute nightmare but eventually got there after plenty of cursing and some silicon spray.

Need some help with my roof lining rods, I think ive got them in the right order...from front to rear does the length of the bend increase slightly? also do I use the bottom or top holes in the roof to position the rods?

Lastly I've stripped and powder coated my pedal box, ive used a clutch pedal from a 4cyl model and will be running a cable clutch setup eventually. Will need to add and extra hole to the firewall but apart from that should be relatively easy.

Big thanks to Mike Cats who helped me out with some much needed parts...also saw the progress on his GTR and XU1 and must say they are looking very impressive!

Cheers
