Silly question was the end float checked after assembly, if not it may be bad machining of the crank, if it was checked and now it stuffed in a short time, and I mean very short time, then the most likely cause would be bad machining or left over metal on the crank, as to create a stroker you have to machine the big ends offset so lots of metal need to be cleaned from oil ways or kiss good bye bearing very quickly, either way its engine out and sump off,
Shame the build is just so dam good

Nice to meet you the other day and see the car in the flesh, it's a beauty!
It was a privilege to assist with some odds and ends.
The covers look great on my hatch, much appreciated.
Pity the ute disgraced itself but such is life...

New starter motor and all is good.
The problem was fairly obvious on inspection.

Fantastic looking car Ryan - inside and outside. I really like the colours you've used for the engine, it's nice and different. The Convo's rock too.

Can I ask what sort of collector joiner that is in your exhaust system? Is it just a slip join or is that some kind of clamp arrangement? Either way it looks awesome.

Keep the photos coming.

hi mate....did you get to the bottom of the crank float issue?

Was talking to a guy today who knows about such things and he commented that he has seen this previously where the flex plate / torque converter isnt fully ""ÏN"" at the back of the motor ( I dont recall his exact words) but it related to there being no movement being possible where the engine joins the trans. i.e. instead of a coulpe of mill forward/aft moovement  being possible, there would be none, which means any mechanical force on the whole drivetrain can be transfered directly to the end on the crank. Whereas it should be just taken up in the 2-3 mm gap thats supposedto be there?

I dont understand the specifics of it, but he gave me the impression it happens from time to time when the motor - trans is joined together, if not just right?

Like I said, I dont fully understand it , never done it...just offering info in case it assists.

Easy fix.

If you can't get sufficient adjustment out of the hinges, you need to remove the rear bolts and grind a flat onto the washers to allow more adjustment.
