Yeah that's about right, make sure you get gasket, dip stick tube, dip stick and oil pick up and you're all done. The oil filter is just normal commodore ls1 filter.
Pick up tube should include O ring

This is where I got mine, bit cheaper depending on the freight cost http://paceperforman...st-oil-pan.html

Im not sure what it is mate. Is this regarding the wiring?

Did you want to use the LS1 computer?

I think your computer for the 6.0 is E38 which i can get wiring for but im not 100% if all E38's are the same from VZ to VE. If anyone can confirm thats great

Bart what reluctor wheel are you running on your crank

Also, do you need the security disabled? I know a guy who can do it around $100

Yes Kev, take Bart's advice and get the converter box, it's about $250 compared to major engine surgery.

To change the reluctor wheel, the crankshaft needs to come out and have the wheel pressed off and on, and of course you need to swap the sensor itself (24x is black, 58x is grey)...

ReluctorWheels.jpg

...but there are other changes between the two ECU's as well...

The cam sensor also changed and was moved from the rear of the block (under the manifold) to the front (in the timing case). The early version was a simple 1x trigger machined into the cam that let the ECU know when the engine was on No1 firing stroke; the later version is a 4x trigger cast into the cam drive gear designed to let the ECU know the position of the cam for the VVT option which started with the L92 motors.

In the picture below, A & B are the two 4x trigger sprockets for the two different cam designs (note the centre bolt / three bolt fixture), C is a 1x trigger for a front sensor, and D is used with the early rear cam sensor.

Also I believe the knock sensors (under the valley cover) changed and cannot be swapped without drilling and re-tapping the bosses.

Converter box seems the easiest way or VE computer, but Big kev sounds set on the LS1 computer so converter box is needed

Or sell off your current computer and buy an after market like Haltech? I know a guy using one in an LS2 turbo

Have you got the LS1 engine loom? You will need that for an LS1 computer.

What gearbox you running?

Im hoping the LS1 loom fits on the sensors, injectors, coils etc??

I doubt the loom would connect straight up, there are three different injector connectors that I know about alone, early LS1 injectors had a different connector to later engines, and the higher-flow flex fuel injectors have a different connector again.

Ok do we know what others have done with LS2 engine on LS1 computer?

Just looking at these converter boxes, I had wrongly assumed that the converter would replace the E38 ECU, then connect to the earlier LS1 PCM, that way you could use the correct wiring loom for the engine, but it seems the converter box connects to the individual sensors themselves...

So it looks like you must use the loom that came with the computer and adapt all the other connectors to suit the engine?
