You are breaking every copyright rule in the book & publishiig that you have bought them here on the forum!!!!
I'm glad i'm not on the market for a genuine fake XU1!!!!
That's my 2 cents worth!

Why, is this info copyrighted? l dont see how it is or can be. How did Eric Blair get away with publishing reprints of the Holden records of all the A9X's made, even though this info isnt as complete as that in possesion of the clubs its still a Holden produced record?

Cheers

Tinkers,
Ben Stewart is the LC guru...Pete and Millisa have the LJ fiche I am lead to beleive...this fische has all according to Shaun. $50 to me is a drop in the hat..I spill that at lunch...If true Torana enthusiasts want any infomation I can provide off the fische..Like Shaun I will accommodate them...We all want to know in 3 secs if the hidden treasure we have found is that Eldorado Gold XU1 no one knew about.
A1..you are covered.
Correct me if I am wrong but copyright lasts 10 years?...Hence all things are copied by the chinese after 10 years and 1 day. Check it out. Tell me and Microsoft we are wrong. I am sure the copyright lawyers here would love to hear the arguement.

it is patents that have expiry dates, they have different time frames for different catagories.
lots of countries don't have patent/copywrite laws, it is if you try to import the stuff you have trouble.
it would not be practical to copywrite this sort of info, assuming it was possible?

The issue is it depends on how much info is on the disc.
if it is like the usa sites, great, or even the a9x lists published are good.
niether has enough info to duplicate/match plates to chassis numbers etc.

you can quickly rule a car out as genuine with this info. and then look further at a cars that meets the preliminary checks.
like checking the details against the chassis number through holden in the case of an ss sl/r a9x lj etc

is it possible eric blair, and the USA sites chose not to publish all the info?
or did holden decide not supply the info to the dealers in case someone decided to make it available to the public?

Rory, wasn't trying to be smart.

anyway, this post is not going far until some of these discs turn up and we can see what is on them.

I like your car very much rory.

could not see myself driving it though, would feel like driving inside a disco with all the red and blue lights that would be following it!
at least now I only get pulled over when I am doing something wrong.

o/k you got me.
been to stressed lately.

these discs are fine.
it says they are the vehicle master listing for service warranty reporting

it has more info than you can get off the 3 id plates.
but it doesn't have
chassis numbers
or some info from the body id plate.

it has

production date
model
PSN (VIN)
series
some engine numbers
selling date
dealer code
body style
engine size
trans type
steering type
brakes
axle size/type/ratio
air con
some trans ser numbers

that is off the first file I looked at with 208 pages, 90 cars per page
next was similar, there are 8 files. if they are all similar that would be 150,000 cars listed for LC/LJ

XU1's can be picked out using the codes supplied
but would need to be backed up with the body id info.
the adr plate would have to line up with the build date, which has the chassis number on it.
then the checking of the actual car

So from the first look, it looks like a very helpful tool if you are looking for a genuine car

Posting the list would probably create more problems as people try to work out what it all means.

you can't find your vin if you don't have it!
you can't find the chassis number if you don't have it

but you could find a specific vin quite fast.
well worth the money

Sounds like it'll be handy for the Genuine buyer's or owner's, but not much use to the Dodgy people out there...like our mate in S.A.!
