either that or a low-lux hahahahahaha

lo-lux is a "mini truck" so I reckon its the Datto too.

If so, good form.

Gotta love the Datsuns.

Nice job Heath....Mickey G n I will have to check her out sometime...i trust you'll be on many torana cruises which will be great.

...out of curiosity, what was the birds arguement about your steering wheel and what wheel did you have on there?

Ahhh said that the wheel is 'no good' because it has metal in the centre. I just crapped on about the ADRs regarding steering wheels not existing back then, and that the wheel is legal on mine but wouldn't be on a 90s car.

Mickey G lol. Yeah I kinda have issues with my car, so it's not quite ready for cruising yet. I think it has about 10kW

Japanese ute may or may not happen... due to an apparant lack of universality between commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle parts. BTW why does no one expect that it's a Mitsubishi? I'm known to have Mitsu tendancies and no one has even suggested that. Geeze you guys worry me sometimes :P

Bloody hell relax it's a f*cken Datto

Would not be a 'mini-truck' or 'lowrider', but would be very low.

More like this but less performance oriented:
Posted Image

Slight problem with the fact it has six stud wheels and no one can tell me if I can install four stud gear into it. Has nothing to do with oldn64, I don't think he even likes Datsuns. And I don't think I'll be buying it unless someone actually knows anything about this apparantly rare as rockinghorse shit car...

Liam got a ride in the Torana today lol that's about all that is on-topic news

Congrats on the RWC & Rego Heath! Great work dude!

So when you coming over my side of town for a cruize & an inspirational visit? :spoton:

You guys do know that not only do i have a ford(!), i also have a jap ute as well! Some might say it's a little gay, but it's cute, cheap on fuel & rather handy. Yeah if it was a falcon or commodore ute it would be more handy, but it wouldn't be as different as my ute!

Cheers

Ahhh she looked like your type mate. You loved the attention ;)

Today I pulled my dizzy apart. It was full of shit so I thought I should at least clean it out and grease the cam and slider plate that gets actuated by the vacuum advance. I went to test the vacuum advance and instantly realised that the hose I was trying to suck through was kinda blocked off by the roller out of a bearing haha. No wonder that didn't work well.

Somebody had obviously had the vacuum advance system removed for some reason, is it unwise of me to try and get it working again?

I replaced the hose and went to suck again, no luck, air didn't move, and the arm didn't pull in (this is with the vac advance module thing removed from the dizzy). Whatever, I just cleaned everything else up and applied appropriate lubrication, chucked a new set of points in and put the dizzy cap back on.

I figure the diaphragm is not stuffed, or I woulda just sucked through clean air. I don't know why the arm didn't move, does the Torana require a lot of vacuum to make it advance or something?

Got my accellerator pump working properly at last! I still don't know exactly what was wrong with it, after I replaced the plunger and had nothing. Weird

Today I picked up a repro glovebox inside and a bare 6cyl Crossmember.

But the accellerator pump has not changed the fact that my car is unbelievably slow. Gah
