^ What he said!

Yea mate your right the towies take it to the nearest of their mates workshops and they'll charge you the price of staying in a top notch hotel to keep your car there. then also pressure you to have the repair done there. I said gtfo when they gave me the release bill, talked to shannons and I paid it and they fixed me up, shannons are good it's some of the towies that stuff ya around.

My Falcon was in storage for nearly six weeks after it was written off in Feb last year. They were paid for 4 days.

Wow, that's a big hit Heath.

Glad you're ok and can talk about it.

Hope the insurance works out and they do the right thing by you. (obviously the towies didn't)

Mick.

Mansfield, its only the front rails and inner panels that would be of any use, there is a k frame there too.

i think heath should start on getting it fixed, he spent months painting the front and just 10 seconds destroying the front

all that matters is that your alright... i've been in the same place as you not a head on though just a guard rail at 100 clicks

So sorry Heath. Glad you're ok, and hope the other situation you mention is sorted.
Your work with BBQ-202 has been an inspiration to others, me & mine included.
Look forward to your next build & understand the grief that goes with losing something you've worked so hard on.

Ouch. So much time and effort flushed in a matter of seconds. I've been there and know all too well how sick in the guts it can make you feel.

The only up side to the sad demise of BBQ202 is you walked away and live to tell the story, others have been less fortunate than us when they stuffed up. Cars can be rebuilt/replaced. You will always have the photos and memories.
Once the motivation returns use what you have learned to make the next one even better. Best of luck.

Man, that sucks!

Interesting(?) to see how the old girl deformed but protected you. Doesn't help in making you feel any better, but that could've ended up SOOOO much worse.

Glad your OK.

Its funny that essentially, firewall back, it relatively unmangled.

Usually with a hit like that the chassis would go apeshit and roof/doorgaps would all be shot.

Go the torana I say

Damage looks similar to my gold LX i had a near head on collision with a Nissan Bluebird. It buckled the shell & the engine got pushed through the firewall but somehow the windscreen stayed intact. Be interested to see if the engine moved back on BBQ 202.

Gutted for you mate.

Thanks for the memories.

All the best with whatever you decide to do.

I think we'd all love to see her back on the road but we're not the ones who have to do the work.

Sad to read about your loss Heath, at least you had some great times in it while it was still alive.

Looking at the pics, i recon it could benefit from a wave of the Dirtbag magic wand, Heaths that is, i think this one ^ is a little too far gone for that.

Lucky! Just think, if you were in an Hyundai you might not be here. They don't make them like they used to.

Hyundais are designed so the engine falls down to help cushion the impact, i dont know if i like that idea.

Heath, If you decide to rebuild this machine I have most of the front of my old LX (in bits) I would gladly donate to see it up and going. You can pick them up next time you are in Townsville lol.

Seriously, if we can find a way to get them down to you - all yours.
