Geoff Leeds..car dealer in Haberfield Sydney and XU1 racer at Bathurst in 1972 had a SMP in his yard in 1978 he has resprayed it in black as it would not sell in SMP....thats all I can add...saw the car...and lifted a door trim to confirm colour.

I will work on a list, might take me a while. I do know that there are 3 forum members that own Brisbane built 1/72 SMP XU-1,s. I also know of a Brisbane built 1/72 SMP "S" 4 door. Good chance Brisbane done a batch in January 1972............

Adam it has been said that the strike me pink Prototype LJ V8 ended up in Tassie. Just how true this is im unsure. Maybe Allan (xu2308) maybe able to shed some further light on this.....................
Still a work in progress Allan (The List) I lost a lot of information when my computer died. No one told me i had to have a back up plan....................
What do you know of the SMP Prototype that supposedly ended up in Tassie ????

do u know of any other 1972 SMP LJ XU-1 V8 with very early History,im talking in 1972-1973 Etc.

The only ones im aware of are some that had Dealer Fitted 308,s in them and these cars were originally from South Australia and Western Australia.......
Harry Firth was the creature of the V8 LJ and he named it the XU-2, that ill do me.............

Harry has informed me of late, that it was in fact the V8 xu-1 series II, "BUT" i have heard him mention it by the name xu-2 from time to time, but if you ask him now he will tell you it was the xu-1 series II never the xu-2 ????????????
