I'm a big fan of the less-is-more theory. I'd love to just walk around with a shirt with GMH-Torana.com boldly written on it and a symbol like the red Holden one would look awesome too. The badges don't do too much for me but that's just personal; it's still a good design.

...Are you sure we couldn't discuss it with Holden? I mean it's not like it isn't promoting the company. It's just the same as having the symbols or the font or anything, it's the same as writing 'Torana' IMO.

man that looks hot. Sorry for the cartooney look I made it up in about five minutes.

I prefferred the original pics in the other thread with the 2 cars on it
I'm not a huge fan of big logs on the back on the shirts
But if it just read gmh-torana.com on the back I'd be happy with that

Unfortunatly I don't like any of the designs in this thread
The silouhette design has been done a few times by various race teams , manufacturers and even CAMS. I'm not a fan

If you decide to go back the original logos with the cars I'm interested
The new designs I am not.... too busy(fussy).

Good point too datto... by busy i take it you mean too fussy ( the design)

J&S: Sorry i didnt see your post before, but i agree mate, whatever we do should be able to be kept similar throught anything she offer, that way we can gain some recognition, and for that reason too.. it's gotot be the RIGHT design!

svenikus, perfect mate thats what I had in my vision.

Tiny thats exactly what i was thinking recognition.

I do see your point dattoman, I was trying to come up with something that gives it the less but more thing, this design is affective and cheap to produce

Can't wait to see the finished product.

well, you just made me feel like an idiot. Maybe I should have put some more time into it haha I like it a lot. It's quite bold, it's got no symbol issues, it's definately a good base if we want to go for a minimalistic approach which is my opinion.

I like it!!!

THe only hassle would be the gradient colour scheme.. not easy to embroider/screen print ( well.. not sure about the screen printing bit!)... But otherwise that looks good!

I like the simple approach, and if we can steer clear of trade marks, then we can really do what we like :)

Thanks for that TUF 308! Keep em coming!

I'd like to see that banner with Red letters, rather than the blue.. It's the whole Holden V's F*rd thing.. Perhaps too, put a ripple/wave effect into the chequered flag too.. Just some thoughts... Julz

I was just about to suggest trialing the same with red letterring and maybe simplifying the gradient issue with printing at the same time, two birds one stone.

Couldn't agree with Julz more on that last part also, I don't think the Chequered flags match the text very well, but a bit of fiddling around with things and I'm sure it'll look perfect.

Just to add my opinion - I agree completely with what dattoman said.

Keep the discussion and designs coming though - this could get quite interesting! Nice work by everyone so far :)

Comments havebeen made in the past regarding the cars used on the old banner.
As with the current banner, if we make stickers, etc using it, then others who may be interested in having their cars up top in the future won't have that opportunity, as we will be stuck with a particular one.

Thus I lean toward silhouettes if "cars" are to be used.
Maybe the LC/J silhouette inside the LH/X/UC showing scale?

Grant..

I wouldnt mind one of the collared shirts with a gmh-torana.com embroidery on the side or just a big gmh-torana.com printed across the back.Either one would do me as Id like them to be simple & uncluttered IMO.

I stole this idea from the stickers thread, so all credit goes to J&S racing.

Something like this would be cool on the shirt! (the slr part of it is crap, but it could easily be redone)

I think this one would make a great neon bar sign.... more things to sell

LOL i do neon for a living... and even I cant afford to make that for myself!!

In all honesty... if you dont have a cool grand to spare for a neon sign... forget it!

BUT! i do agree... maybe i'll afford to do it one day! :)

I too agree with tinkers.. Your never going to please everyone.
The reaction to the first shirt was well.. overwhealming... I still like that design the best..

ok i have just started to look into designing the shirt, i have started by just grabbing a few typefaces that i got on my computer, here is an image of just plain text with the words gmh-torana.com

Posted Image

I tried just puting text only on the shirt for a professional look, maybe a look like this would be good for an embroided option and i can spice them up with a bit more contemporary design on a plain screen printed shirt.

Here is just a collared black shirt with the type on it.

Both awesome designs!

253toranaSS: I reckon the typeface you put on the shirt ( it think its the last in your list!?) looks great. Very neat, professional and clean!

TUF308: that looks quite good mate!, I wonder if we could stretch the silhouettes over the gmh-torana.com wording and get rid of the flags? I wonder how that would look?? Maybe also a simple typeface like 253's example...

I dunno! theyve all got their good points!

Tiny,
thats perfect streching the silhouettes over the gmh-torana.com, i really think we are getting somewhere now.

I think this could look good on the back of the shirt also for the sticker and on the front you can do what 253toranass did.

Tiny can you put up a poll with a couple of option for the front and for the back??

I like 253toranaSS's front of the shirt, and something similar to TUF-308's image for the rear would be awesome!

Yep I'll do that when we get a few more designs, that way we can have maybe 3 options ( front and rears) to choose from?

Cheers

im going to have a bit of a crack at maybe a loser design that can be screen printed onto a normal T-shirt, i want to make it something that i would actually were out to a Nightclub! What year was this website founded? or even forums?

Im Thinking GMH-Torana.com scribble in large text across the front, with maybe the date the forums started in the background (Like Surf Shirts do) Or instead of hte number i could have SS or GTR or XU-1 etc

If someone has a pic of a surf shirt they really like the style of i will most prob be able to mimick it.

Hmmm... mainstream 'metro' fashion doesn't generally appeal to me but anything with Torana written on it; that's a different story.
