Mines doing around 440, with standard stroke early heads ported,

Not bad at all. Gives me new hope.

i know of a very simular setup making 490fwhp

thats one mad magna!

Considering its late Saturday nite, WHAT HAPPENED :tease:
Im keen to know, as i have a mate with a very similar engine.

Ran out of time...decided to run it in slowly on the Sat..then change oil and filter and do the power runs fresh on Monday morning.

Pulled the Accel dizzy apart today to make it work with the right curve and weights and the MSD 6AL....probably tomorrow now...Patience my sons!!

Did they run it before tuning to see how much better it will be, this is driving me to drink, thats my excuse anyway ! So Ill see you at morgan pk for the test n tune on the 24 Feb. ?

No didnt run it yet....Got my HRCC bulletin today...suggested that to the Missus and it appears its a goer! :spoton:

Waiting ...waiting...waiting I just hope you get the HP and torque you were promised by your engine builder, and you drive it and not hide it when you install it ....

I hope you are going to cut the pipes & put a larger collector on it minimum 3"...
those look very small,or at least run it like that then cut an weld collector & do a back to back test.
I think if you were to leave the pipes as they are you will be severely restricting it.

401 ft-lbs @ 5000rpm

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

443.6 @ 6500RPM
AVG 4-6500RPM 392HP

411.9 FT/ILBS @ 4600RPM
AVG 4-6500 RPM IS 392.6 FT/LBS

Greg was right..pipes held it back and fell over at 6600rpm.

Its the torque...the line is flat from 3000 to 5000 rpm....midrange grunt will be HUGE! :clap:

Good on ya mate.. It is always nice to pull the cord on a new one!
How were her vitals? (oil,water,) Did you get a BMEP read out on it?
Did you get to try it with a bigger set of pipes?
If you cut off those horrible collectors and fatten things up a bit you won't lose anything in the mid range and it should find about another 30Hp @ the top as a bonus you will probably get another 500rpm as well..... Good thing rpm in a track engine ,it gives you a bit more flexibility with gearing options..

You going to do as suggested and cut the ends of these pipes?
