Well my old chev 380(only 25 cubes bigger than yours)had over 500 ft/lbs from 4500..peaked at 560 ft/lbs

The reference for the 580 ft/lbs bit. Oranges and apples...irrelevant in the conversation

I just came to the realisation that no matter how much power my vehicle makes it cant be compared to yours Rory. Mine will be tested in the car and with a Trimatic box and only a 2500 stally. The drive train will suck up power, just how much remains to be seen.

I reckon my stally will have to be sold and I will then be looking at something around a 4000. We could get a surprise and my stally actually handle it well but thats being very optimistic.

Anyway fantastic job Rory you must be well pleased.

Cheers
Herne

^^ How is that quote irrelevant??...these are also your quotes
I am expecting a brick wall at 6800/6900...thats fine with me...but a mountain of torque in the guts is what I want.

Ray said today he chose not to hit the exhaust ports too hard as that will move more power up into the top end and he knows what my agenda was...maybe 500 ft/lbs in the middle isnt out of the question considering the combo....if thats the case..I will be at the next corner ..still thinking about the last one....that "bury your spine in the seat" type of torque.

So i see you wanted torque...but it's lacking it imo.
But obviously you and your engine builder Ray are happy with the figures...thats nice
i just know i wouldnt have been happy with the figures after your initial predictions & i thought your engine builder did Pro stock engines?? maybe they make 600 hp like the pro stock engines of the 70's :D
Anyway pipes alone wont be the magic cure for this.
If your engine guy is any good..he shouldnt be satisfied with the figures especially the torque 392 ft/lbs??
Also think you would have been better going with a crane 280 cam..since you keep saying you want " bury your spine in the seat torque"..
Post up your dyno sheet for all to see the curve..
Anyway i m done trying to educate or make suggestions..
Fwiw i bet if you were the one with the holden that makes 580 ft/lbs & someone elses made what yours does..you would be saying how theirs is lacking also.
I worked where some of the most powerful & record holding engines have been built..fastest naturally aspirated street car in the country ,horsepower hero champions for years..so experience does count for something

Very Happy Herne...The real test is in the seat of the pants...the guys feel it will be so smooth from go to whoa...the only give away will be the speedo...Yellow car was like that....just got there then you realised how fast it was..no fuss...just launch...

Ezy...whatever... as my ex wife used to say...get over it for f*ck sake...I am not here to argue..I am happy...you are obviously more highly educated on the subject of a 383 Vs a 355 than myself..

Bottom line..thanks for you opinion..
personally..I dont give a rats..

Pls re-read this..
I AM HAPPY WITH MY ENGINE!!

The end.

Oh ok..you dick ! happy dyno huh?
You tell me how much horsepower you need to make to go 9.5 in a lx hatch you clown..or how much power you need to make a capri run 7.6 & 176 mph aspirated..ill tell you 1370 hp aspirated.
Oh thats right the dyno is happy..i guess the timeslips at the track lie too!
as well as the dyno's every year at the summernats too.
Dont try and bullshit me..i hear stories & guys like you every day..
its just typical that you dont want to listen when i the beginning all i tried to do was to make suggestions to help you find more power which most people usually appreciate.
Now that i think about it..its better you have yourself a nugget..maybe the pensioners at the bowling club will be impressed..

Can someone else make a post,??..This is getting boring.

That was Warren Willing..not me..298kph through the traps in the days of the double hump in Conrod...Rocket said it went up on the rear wheel at the 2nd hump...he was on the left side of the track....and he put the front wheel down at 280kph on the white line on the right hand side of Conrod after the wind caught him....

Soiled his pants , he told me!

Jeez ...you do show how much of a fuc*wit you are...
btw no one cares about the nugget...
You make stupid smartass remarks about happy dyno's & shit when you obviously know nothing ! & clearly your too good to listen to any constructive criticism because you know it all already.
Your happy and thats it...great
Dont start with comments where you think you know better when its clear you dont.
Also please do tell me HOW the dyno is happy?! :D & how in your great wisdom you came to this conclusion.

"Mmm thats makes two of us then."

Touch'e...the message has sunk in...you would have thought anyway....

Kev...hopefully in the next 2 weeks....I want to get the Toploader checked first...then slip it all in...the pipes need the mod done but that will be last I think..tailshaft,wiring etc and fuel system/lines to finish off...
End of Feb/ mid March to fire a shot in anger??..Hinges on the house move/building etc etc.

Hmmmmmm, i honestly have a lot of respect for what easy09s say when it comes to motors, as with a few others on this forum. But i think that this has gone way to far. Yes derogitory comments were made by both parties, woop woop whats new on these forums.

Everyone drop it or ill have to get the big ass hat out, get one of my bitches to powder my hand and begin pimp smacking the lot of yas.

R, that bike ride sounds like fun...Or should i say terrifying??? Havnt decided yet.

Cheers.

I come back to....
While Ezy might be knowledgable in his area...I have quite CLEARLY stated..I am happy with what I have..

I dont need any more mods
I dont want the last 1/2 horsepower the engine can produce
I am happy...
I dont want to spend a shit load more money on it.,
If the figures are low according to Ezy...thats his opinion...not mine..not others..he is welcome to it,

I am happy..

R

P.S...Did I mention I am happy???

PSS...For farks sake dont mention the word Happy again...it seems to send people off the edge!!

Hi Rory
Was wondering if you have done the collector conversion on your extractors yet. And are you planing on doing another dyno run with the new collectors on the extractors. Would be interesting on the differences.
Thanks
