Hey rory, I think we've spoken about your pacemakers before Was there something had to be done to the HQ Pipes for them to fit properly on one of the sides, i forgot and something about them sitting too high or too low, Im almost ready to buy a set of pipes and not sure weather to go the Torana Suit VN Head pipes Or the HQ Suit VN Heads

If you could please explain to me again Or even better if you have pics that would be the Best thing since a popup toaster! B)

Cheers

Green,
On the passenger side I cut them just after where the 2 pipes joined echother above the outrigger arm. We then rewelded them from under the car making them clear..the drivers side was hard on the floor but just needed a slot cut and pull them down off the floor then reweld.

Got the H/E sump today..and the Powerbond balancer..VN heads are a bit of a drama getting them from Melb to here..I have to sell a kidney for the freight...we will look for alternative freight. Pretty much ready to start bolting together now I have some time.

Are they assembled? Valves? Springs? Rockers?
I wonder if removing them would bring them in under 20kgs?

OK time to extract the finger on No.2...thinking I will pull the heads on the 308 we have to check exactly what we have..I can see it has a dual timing chain..the plugs come out a nice brown colour so it been running OK..might look at what CR we have and go from there...think its already been rebuilt..guessing it has L34 heads at least...it has a Brock inlet manifold...Elec ignition..still undecided about the VN heads..but definately leaving it as a 308 , not a 355 ..want a revver this time..maybe simple stuff, hydraulic cam etc..

NOS hadnt done the boot lid or roof so rubbed them down and did the cut and buff...Looks a million dollars now, body all finished, fitted the steering column to rack, plus booster and master cylinder.

308 head with no valves or springs is 19kg's. I sent one Aus Post to Queensland. I just put the valves and springs in a separate box and posted them as well. Just wrapped it in cardboard (the chipboard I was going to sit it on put it over 20kg's again.
