grant, yeh mate been there already, cheers, ill be at six banger nats next month if your coming out. yeah im 17 too haha.

adam, thanks man i have had pacemakers in there with no worries but these are 3 into 1 custom jobbies 1 5/8 primaries & 2 1/4 secondaries with half decent collectors on them. they are a bit tight around the eng mount and you can only just get a reduction starter out after 10 mintues of swearing and cursing. next pipes will just go through the inner guard :buttrock:

Hi Kevin Ive been doing other stuff around the home but im keen to get a good set of pipes for the Eh .Have you ever run or done any testing with the cast iron headers ? To see wether they work on a strong motor . I can see that they tend to be a little short for the scavenging process and drop off the port face to quick !!! thanks Adam

Hi Adam, no sorry i haven't done any testing with them at all.
How much power are you making with the casties?

I have been busy as with this car as well.
Head has had a touch up and a bit of chamber deshrouding, new valve job.
I have moved the Head over .160".
Pistons are 2cc dish acl's, were 15 thou down the bore, now 10 out the top.
Compression should be from 10.7:1 to about 11.8:1. Yes, i gained 30rwhp switching from pump fuel to methanol with only 10.5:1 Comp!
Valves were 1.65 I and 1.43 E now 1.7 and 1.49.
And modded the extractor's.
So we will see how it goes! I have to keep my crown at 6 banger nat's, those pesky torana's will be back!

Hi Kevin 170hp with the casties !!! Ive got 11.2.1 comp small chamber head flowing 192 cfm at 480 thou lift , 6 x 48mm throttle bodies , 3800 stall with a modified trimatic and ICE ignition . Car has run 14.2 at 99mph consistently with a GTECH in full street trim .

Hi adam, you are doing well!!!
the problem is there are so many variables on a chassis dyno, that auto could be robbing 30hp.
99mph is not too shabby mate i know how heavy these whales are in full trim! what diff are you running?
i have struggled to get mine to 2550lb's. i have no doubt your EH will weigh 2900lb-3000lb with you in it!
how much duration does the camshaft have?
I wonder how well a set of HM9c's fit in an EH?

Hi Kevin,it runs a 3.9 ratio borg warner 28 spline with a lokka, cam 249 inlet 254 exhaust at 50 . Ive tried to fit a set of HM9cs but they foul in several places and wont go past the steering drag link (hr frontend) . Dyno was a mainline dyno with a good operater he told me that it was the strongest red 6 he had come across and he thought it would be making over 200 at the tyres with a manual .

We made just shy of 200hp with cast iron headers on the 202 in the track car (LJ 2 door) and ran a 14 flat @100mph at the last drag day (celica 4 speed, 3.55 diff, 15" wheels)

Well I suppose the old EH is not to far off the pace ?? But how much could a real good set of pipes improve her ????????

been busy as but im not going to make it to the 6 banger nat's, other stuff has gotten in the way, but i will give it a shot.

i have found a bloke who makes Fibreglass panels for EH's so the plan is to get another mudguard (i already have one) and a bonnet, still deciding on the boot lid. Fibreglass bonnet should lose a tonne of weight.
and a set of wheel's is on the card's soon, the steelie's on there now weigh 13kg's each!

Final comp ratio has come out to 11.6:1.
the crank the flywheel has had 2 interference fit 3/8 dowel's put it in. used the ? tonne press to get them in and it struggled!

Well, the fibreglass boot lid, bonnet and mudguards are on and we've had a paint job!

Had some water leak's with my 9 port that deemed it unusable, so jammed the engine out of the FJ in it to make the 6 banger nat's.

It also got a another roller cam in it at the same time, pretty soft but 268 @ 50 & 550 lift.

my Gearbox and diff ratio's were way too tall for this cam, went 7.88 @ 88 mph doing 6500rpm over the line, cam doesnt start workin till 7000!

60 ft timers weren't working, but it felt like it got out of the hole better when it spun the tyre 1 - 2 times on the hit so i have some tinkering to do here.

Thought i should update this, new engine is in the hole.

Its a 202 with a blue 173 head I ported, SFT and Weber's on Petrol.

It has a tiny 9 port manifold on it that needs to be changed when i get the courage to cut the firewall.

same dyno I've always used, it still made more power than the old 9 port engine on meth.

I'm going racing on wednesday at a test n tune, so i will report back.

Great thread Kev, I've got a long way to go.
Very impressive numbers coming out of those engines mate, what's the most you've made from a solid cam?? - I've lost track of which one has what!
