Thanks jonesy, my own engines have all been flat tappet's, i made 250 on meth with the 9 port combo and now the 259 with this eng with a 12 port and weber's.

https://www.facebook...er&notif_t=like

So i went racing last night, car is still in one piece so that is a positive.

It's developed a misfire at 7200rpm which i think is spark/electrical, you can slightly hear it in the 1st-2nd & 2nd-3rd gear change, so i was just shifting at 7000.

Wouldn't even go past 7200 in the burnout.

I changed the gear's from 4.56 to 5.00 and now i can't get it to hook !! I've also bent the slapper bars for the 3rd time.....

thinking of trying some of these http://www.srdparts....uemart&Itemid=1

hoping to run some more mph when i fix the miss as i was crossing the line at about 7100 when it starts to go flat/miss.

but the best et was 12.15 and best mph was 109.7, went 1.68 to the 60 and has been 1.55 previously.

LOVE the revs! Sounds awesome mate.
That rear end traction set up looks a fair bit different to caltracs, but just the next thing to do hey!
Do you do all you're own head porting??

yeah i think the SRD bars will be a bit easier to fit, less mod's to the front spring eye mount.
I port my own heads yes, had a bit of help at the end from my mentor with this one, seems to work alright  :spoton:

Just EH ute springs with 2 leaves removed, I turned up some alluminium bushes for the front spring eye.

Keen on a set of Calvert split mono leafs but they wont be cheap by the time you get them here.

How much air gap are you using between the end of the slapper bar & the spring eye?

SRD traction bars look Ok.

Your giving me some big numbers to chase at the 6 bangers later in the year.

You need to hold the right pedal hard on the floor through the gear change, don't lift. :stirpot:

they have about 5mm gap, I've tried them with gap's and preload and nothing really helps, pinion angle is 6 degrees.

hehe yeah i still have to beat the purple lc, i think he ran 7.5* something on the 1/8 last year i went 7.68 last night.

I think that's the gearbox's fault, it doesn't like to change gears when i hold it flat  :Headbang2:

Why do we insist on doing it the hard way with coggers !?! :dontknow:

Because unlike low life little girls like myself who have tampon despensers mounted just below the Innovate LM-2, you are a manly man who's manlyness dictates you must have the manlyest of all pedals and a manly stick that not only moves in the girly up down direction but also moves in the manly side to side direction. .

Or some shit like that i've been told.

Jokes aside, i'd be ludicrously keen to see how much faster you went with a nice transbraked manualized tri with a suitable converter.....But we all know your not going to try that.

Cheers.

It's not the hard way, but practice makes perfect.
Is that 5mm with you sitting in it?
Maybe the rear shocks are a little questionable?
Is that 6° down from the crankshaft centre line?
The oil is to slippery for the syncro's, so you have to granny shift. Try a SAE 30 gear(mineral) oil that meets GL-4, that might help it shift.

5mm with me in it, the rear shocks are QA1 single adjustables, Calvert 90/10's up front.

yep 6 degree's down from the centerline.

you could be onto something it has a 75-85 penrite synthetic in it at the moment.

tell ya what dj pull the bleeder and all ya gear out of toy-202 and i will test it out for ya !   :tease:

but this is what tickles my fancy http://www.racingjun...-trany-4-1.html

Howard broke a dough nash with a measely big block.

A 202 would decimate one methinks.

Wouldnt you be better off with something with dog shift?

How keen are you on testing the bleeder? I wont be using it for a while....

You might have to owe me one though, wink wink....

Cheers.

yeah but i still can't manage to bust a w series supra box so i think the nash will be fine.

dog shift would be good but price tag comes with it and i can't really afford a $3000 clutch.

hmm i dont know, I've just finished building the car after 3 year's, I'd like to enjoy it a little first before i go ripping it apart again
