Don't bag Sigmas.
I had one with a 2Lt Astron engine and that was great.
It was the 1.6 and 2.6 Saturn engines that were cr@p.
The 2000 & 2600 were both Astrons, (plus there was also a 1850), but the 1.6 was a Saturn as used in the earlier Galants.

Yes, but not powered by a Hillman Hunter engine !!London - Sydney Marathon winner?

No myth the V8 LJ, Holden did make them, they were made and one was even rego as a V8 in Sep 1972
The myth of them being mass produced in the factory. Yes, we know there were a few made as prototypes.

Leo says about the LH XU2 and was never going to happen
Neither XU-2 happened.
Although Leo may have spoke of an XU-2, Holden actually mocked one up.

I agree, if it wasn't for their early success they wouldn't have continued for so long.

Leo says about the LH XU2 and was never going to happen, the pics u put up a styling mock ups, as Holden stayed away from the XU name due to the Supercar Scare, thats why u have the SLR5000 name on the LH.
Leo says about it in the V8 XU-1 story, read it
XU2 actually did exist. It is the option code for the special vehicle package otherwise known as SLR5000. XU2=SLR5000 like XX7=Sandman and XV2=HQ SS.

I've read also the code number XU-2 was going to be assigned to the Bedford van. Holden wasn't planning on making a series of Torana's with the prefix, I guess they had no idea how cool the moniker was going to sound.
The next number after the XU-1 being XU-2 was just going to be assigned to the next vehicle in line which was the Bedford.

2. One of those Commer vans that look like an upturned tupperware container with wheels.
3. In my opinion, and probably will be warned or banned for this, but the TA Torana would have to be one of the uglier classic Holdens...
Sorry, I know I have sinned.

He of course actually had a deposit on an XU-1 but when the dealer rang on his return from Vietnam to say that his Torana had arrived, only problem was it was nipple pink!! He told'em to bash it up their arse!! Ironic that original pink ones are so valuable these days.
And as far as worst cars my vote goes to:
1: Gemini 2 door
2: Escort panelvan
3: Datsun 120Y 2 door (I saw a candy apple red one with a twin 1 inch exhaust and stone flectors that the owner had spent $7000 on. I told him that I'd just bought my LX SS 5.0 Litre for that much and he just shrugged and said that he loved 120Y's!!!!!!)

I think that is correct re XU2. XU3 was neutral headlining until the end of HQ and it was assigned to the code for the Sandman special vehicle package around 5/75.
Any car with an offset steering wheel angle.....................................................
I think this has gone under the radar.......So I bought it up again!
