Nope, HDT used road cars for promo cars. 35 years has gone by, anyone can swing a gun over a car in 35 years and give it a coat of paint.
for example

All the race cars that went through HDT are known.
Should you believe you have evidence to contradict this, feel free to post it here for all to see and post extensive pics of the car.
It wouldn't be the first time another car is being lauded as the real deal, but I'm told your car has features which preclude it from being any of these.

41 A9X GMP&A shells........as per the post by REDA9X.....Read the question I asked .
We all know there was 33.
Where are the 33?
I don't want to know what I already know.
I read the posts that's why I asked the question.
You must know the Bowden's.
??????????????????????
Correct, GMP&A shells existed that were not A9X-spec.........Not of much more value but this is my take on the race cars.
Not all GMP&A "shells" are A9X, GMP&A = General Holden Parts & Accessories......i.e.........spare parts.
The A9X shells were standard GMP&A completed shells removed off the end of the body line and had the "Patch" installed. These shell were then made available to the race teams. Race teams received cars in all sorts of completed stages, from bare shell to rolling car completed with interior.
What is interesting is the MC7 G70 on the plate of this particular car.
I agree that it is very interesting tat this car appears to have this plate which signifies factory production.....race shells did not get this......
One and only one road going A9X is known, factory-fitted with the T10.......it is a sedan, I believe......it will be very interesting should this turn out to be another......
the T10 was not a production gearbox, only a homologated part......a minimum number needed to be produced for supply, but need not be fitted to road cars, hence only the single example purportedly being produced.

As for total GMP&A shells of all types, not sure but here must be details in the archives somewhere..........
And any NASCO LH shells still around at the changeover would have become GMP&A shells.......

Factory stuff-up with the stamped plate?actually Grant, they all had tags and the sedan you talk of isn't a factory T10 fitted car though it does say it on the tag. T10 was dealer fitted
Funny that Holden even had the stamp. No other dealer fitted T10 A9X seems to have a stamped plate for what was a dealer fitted accessory. Must have been a Friday job.

Every "option", whether available or not had an option code.Stamp left over from HQ350 with Muncie ?
So the code for The T10 existed but wasn't used for Torana.....and the code was stamped using individual letters/numbers........
Maestro, could you get the owner to place some paper over that and rub it down. The pic isn't great but I think it's more the condition of the pressing.
OR........put a big magnet underneath, paper on top and sprinkle some iron filings......

I'm trying to work out where exactly that is on the rail, can I assume the curved bit I see at the top of the picture is the hole the pollution canister would sit over?
Interesting colours there

Seen a lot of Torana's and Holden's over the past 35years but that doesn't look like any factory stamping. This is what I think is the GMP&A part # stamped into th RH chassis rail.
I'm having trouble resizing the few other pics?
Looks more like someone had a set of number stamps and over hit the hammer on thin unsupported steel.
Clear in focus pictures rather than the UFO type images might help or hinder your cause
