Lol, cheers cheers cheers

Kirsty, you didnt get specific... Thats what i asked for ha ha! Unfortunately someone else now owns Morgan's old VP... I flew home from work about 2hrs too late yesterday to be able to buy it... But that would have been a great motor and box to get (for those who dont know morgan, it was a VP wagon V8 with a shift kitted auto - quicker than my UC down the 1/4 mile)...

Cheers
Keith

Oh hell yeah. But it'll also make a semi economical cruiser too... Thats what its all about. A nice burbling V8 sounds better crusing by than a rice bucket jap mobile...

I have a new addition in the driveway now... Check it out... Dropped old mate from $1500 to $800 and its basically road worthy... It has more features than my car, im happy as larry!! Air-con, tacho dash, intermittant wipers, chrome trimming around the boot lid... Love it!!

Its a 3.3, 4speed, 3.36:1 salisbury, as mentioned - air con, and a few other gadgets...

It's great!!

Ha Ha, cheers nathan! Unfortunately i will not be switching the dash. I've already got an oil pressure gauge and tacho im my UC, dont need another!!

Its getting the royal treatment today - a bath, a full on clean up and a tune up!! It runs like a humming birds song, but i have a feeling that the ignition timing is off a bit.

Other than that its pretty sweet, all gauges work and the gearbox is in great condition! Clutch is brand spankers and its got the 4wheel discs that work perfectly too!!

Cheers
Keith

hahaha I think that's his brother's car or something.

Nice find Keithy, looks awesome and a great buy as well. Will that be used as a daily kinda thing and the existing one will be kept for the nice weather etc?

Lol, the 'fully sick' magna (with stocko rims on it - the chromies are bald) is my mates... He's saving up for tyres on them...

Im doing up this UC for a mate. Poor lad has had an 'unfortunate series of events' leading up to a loss of his beloved hyundai. So i'm assisting him by getting this UC on the road for him. It doesnt need much, then ive got another UC with my eye on it... Hopefully in the next couple of weeks i should be the proud owner of it too...

I'll probably get a drive of the new addition once every now and then too... Big plans for it though... The 3.3litre has been found to be from a VB commodore (low compression and commodore prefix), the old motor must have been cactus. Shame cos the low compression motor drops a few kW from the original motor in this UC... Bugger!

I spent most of today degreasing the engine and engine bay down. I also gave it a bath. It looks much better now than it did when i got it.... Now to clean the inside up...

Total wheel count at the moment...

12 Hotwires (8 X 13by7 with tyres and 4 X 14by7 with tyres)
4 Globe bathursts with tyres
4 Simmons B45's current wheels
5 Stocko 13by5.5 with tyres...

total wheel count is 25... My shed is quite full... I'm gonna lay them down on the lawn and take a photo from on my roof tomorrow - would make a great shot!!

Cheers
Keith

I managed to rip the air-con out yesterday. It took the whole day to do it as i had to basically rip the dash apart to get the plumbing out... And the hardest part was ripping the compressor out. I got some crap in my eye then and couldnt see for 24hrs out of my left eye haha!

I pulled the rocker cover and side covers off and painted them up in black, new gaskets put on there too. Looks good. But i put a dent in the rocker cover getting it on... I got impatient and got out the trusty hammer to assist. Things got nasty! But its not a big dent, more like a slight out of true.

I won an electronic dizzy and leads and coil for it on ebay the other day too. $115 all up, not a bad buy really... That is - if its in the condition he says its in... I will leave feedback for him once its in and running right.

Now to finish the interior in the last few minutes before i fly back to work for 2 weeks... ahh ive had a great week!!

Cheers
Keith

Luckily it wasnt the air-con stuff i got in my eye, it was only a bit of dirty buildup off the bottom of the motor!!

Bit of an update on the new addition while im here...

It's now got new carpet, an electronic dizzy setup and new seatbelts (old ones were not legal). It will have my old hotwires (14 by 7) on for a while until my mate can save up for some tyres on the other hotwires... I have replaced all the gaskets apart from the head gasket and painted the rocker cover and side covers in black gloss too.

Once the carpet is in and the dizzy on, i'll take some more happy snaps!

In other news, i'm looking at 2 cars when im back. 1. An LX sedan with 253 and celica 5speed (project [real project] car), and 2. A crashed VP commodore wagon (pending...) with a V8 and auto box which has been rebuilt and shift kitted. The only damage was cosmetic, so motor and box are still ok.

I will again take photos and post them when i can! Cheers guys, ill also get the ball rolling next week with a custom drop tank getting fitted up to my road going UC. (i have too many cars to keep track of now)...

Cheers

Drop tank has been measured up, custom built... Will be fitted in approx. 2weeks... I have been told that it holds "significantly more" petrol than the old one!! Internal swirl pot has been welded (made of aluminium not plastic)! There is no need for it to be engineered as there will be no modifications to my spare wheel well (tank goes around the well). I have to do nothing, its a straight bolt in tank. Has stainless straps and will look horn!!

The green UC is still being regularly worked on by me, new carpets going in tomorrow (hopefully), and electronic dizzy will wait as all distributor components on it already are brand spankers... I started it today for the first time in 2 weeks and it still had no probs in ticking over first turn!

Woo Hoo!

Cheers
Keith

will look horn!!

I'm not sure whether to suspect a typo occurred, or a new colloquial expression is being formed. :tease:

Sounds good Keith. Awesome progress. Is the drop tank going to be a full width one? Or a skinny kinda one?

Lol, no typo!! Its an expression i've used for a while now!!

I have not seen the tank as yet, but i would assume its going to cover the spare wheel well from behind (visible side). It sits at legal drop tank height and is all warranted locally. It's ready for efi, so thats good too! That was my direct instruction - to be set up so i dont have to muck around with it come time to throw the Injected 304 in there. No need for an external surge tank, its all been done...

Cheers
