What area are you in? I'm happy to meet up when they are finished. As earlier stated I'm in Sunbury

Aside from clogging up your plugs, if you are washing down the bores with that much fuel, it is not good for seating rings, and not sure how great it will be for the bearings as the fuel mixes in with the oil.. (And perhaps clogging up your o2 sensors as well...?)

Trim is looking pretty flash so far
Any only mentioned about fuel wash, just in case.....depends on how rich it is going I suppose? When I put the blower on the LS1 in the '69/'99 Camaro I did, it had bigger injectors with the blower, and I ended up driving it about 15 minutes to the dyno shop like that (with the wastegate tied open so it couldn't make any boost at least) until it could be tuned. It was running pretty rich like that too, lol... but wasn't tooooo far and the engine was not fresh so everything was well settled at least as far as rings, etc. (Or so I figured, and the dyno shop said it should be ok too, being a pretty short distance.)

Thanks, congrats on both bub and car, no time on your car for a few weeks LOL, must be the first baby. my youngest is 19, time and dollars get hard to find.
Garages used to put plugs in a mini sand blast plug cleaner when all cars were carbies, now just throw them out for new ones. maybe try blasting them next time you are near one? just a thought.

Thanks Bryan, and yes first bub.
Daz, I live in Sunbury and work in Ringwood. Yes I am sick of the km's, but I have been doing it for 6 years. Although the distance sucks, I enjoy my job and the boss is actually good to work for. Since I bought my SS wagon it's not as bad. I'm looking forward to the odd trip in Torana though
The trim is really starting to make the car look closer to completion, which is a really good feeling. The bomus will be listening and watching it on the dyno. I might have to work out how to post video. From what I have seen I think I need to set up a You Tube account and post it on there and connect the link to our forum.
If anyone knows, please let me know. That is if anyone actually wants to hear it.

Yep, you can host the video on youtube easily (that is where I have a few of my car....and even a short bit of Welby in action )
I still want to get mine dyno tuned one of these days...just been slack about it since it still drives fine, lol. When I eventually do, I will video it as well..
Oh, and just to join the crowd... I've been to Ringwood too...ha ha ha.

Ringwood for you Jeff is definitely a hike!
Well a few more items done tonight. The main one to note would be a plug change. As soon as I hit the starter it fired instantly, couldn't believe how easy it started. Then it came down to an idle I am very happy with. The first rev actually spun me out. This is obviously the first time I have heard it run properly, it was so responsive and reved so clean. I'm now really looking forward to hearing it on the dyno.
It's now back on the trailer ready for the trimmer to do his thing with the carpet.
Bring it on!

Home from the trimmers once again. He didn't get as much as I had hoped done, but the carpet in the cabin is complete and the seats are in. Still have to finish off my rear seats, but another step closer none the less.

Yeah sure "accidently" :-)
Sounds like a legit reason.
That's what I say if the officer ever asks me what I was doing !

When you do get it tuned, you can have them set the rev limiter where you want to (and that they don't just turn it off if you plan on driving sort of hard)....you will be surprised how quick they rev up once you are driving it a bit more often!
I remember when I first had the supercharged one going in the Camaro, I was playing around and gave it a bit of stick, and got on the throttle and just was about to shift when I heard it start sort of missing/cutting out. I couldn't figure what it was that split second and glanced down at the tacho and noticed the needle was way the other side , lol...and that was just it bouncing against the rev limiter.
I have spun the one in the Torana up a couple times too, the LS engines sure are a blast be it just lugging around town or playing a bit.

I only intend on giving the car a hard time. Looking forward to doing some club track days ( don't know what club yet), and some hill climbs. I have seen the Torana club has a hill climb and so does the monaro club ( have a mate with a 68 monaro in the club ). I would also like to do some tarmac ralleys if there are any around. I know the Targa series now has a Touring division where you can take your road going car and enjoy the closed roads for an event. They give you a top speed of 130 km/ph to stay under. Good part is no need for a cage or any special mods. From what I have read the roads on most of the rally are too windy for the race cars to get over 130!
Anyway need to get it finished first.
What gears are others using?
Jeff?
Daz?
Andy?
And how do you find them?

Very interested in hearing more about that Touring division of the Targa series!

I run 3.5 gears in mine.....seems like a nice overall combo. I drove a Camaro SS (same sort of LS1/6 speed as the hatch has that is) with 3.41 gears for a couple of years and liked how it went, so had went the 3.5 route when I built my diff. Still happy on the freeway of course with 2 overdrive gears and plenty of poke around town from light to light.
I probably could have went 3.2 or 3.3 or such even since I don't have a very tall tire, but it is not like it rev's it's head off like it is now, lol and does pull away from a standing start nicely for a near stock (so far) engine combo..aside from the intake and exhaust that is.

I run 3.5's in my 9 inch. I did some calcs back when I was saving for and planning the build and made the choice it would suit me best.
Never driven it mate so I'm not much use. Hopefully that will change soon.

I thought others would like the targa idea. Maybe we could have a Torana influx next year!!
I will get as much iunfo as I can and come back to everyone over the next few weeks.

Ha Daz, what revs are you expecting out of yours at 100? When I used the calculators for mine it should be doing 2000rpm at 100. I thought that wasn't too bad. I'm more worried that first will be too short. I have just checked again and 1st should get 60km at 6000. 67km at 6800 which is where the cam runs out.
I guess I will find out soon enough

I had a whining noise for like 1wk prior & I thought it was the gearbox....
My car sits at about 1350-1400rpm at 100ks in 6th & that was with 3.25:1 gears in it checked with a GPS speedo.
When I figure out which part actually broke & replace it ill throw a set of 4.11's in that I've got sitting there.....& maybe a lock-rite lokka while I'm under there
