I think the worse thing is all the bullshit opinions that are forgetting this was a biopic telemovie and not a documentary

I watched part 2 and after the intro warning message 'this is a drama, not a documentary' I could suspend disbelief.
After a few minutes I thought it was so terrible and about to ditch it but I ended up getting stuck into it after seeing actual racing footage that I remembered watching live bitd.
It was okay for a drama, hopefully they do an encore screening. Who on earth encores Neighbours btw?
I remember the polariser scandal and being really pissed off they didn't release the Director, I thought it looked much ballsier than the Walkinshaw.

I see James Brock has put a post up on FB in regards to it.
According to the show his name should be Brock Brock

Was total rubbish, switched off episode two.
Regardless of the disclaimer stating that its not a documentary they are portraying the actions and words of people who are still with us and are
personally touched by events either real or invented for a good story.
How do Bev, Moffat, Harvey, Perkins, Phil, Julie etc etc feel about their portrayal and actions which may or may not have happened?

Welcome to Hollywood.
This happens frequently, whenever I see 'based on a true story' I know to expect 'enhanced with garbage' to sell the drama.

The actors who played the part of Brock and Moffat also had the parts for Lillee and Marsh in Howzat.

I vaguely recall that this actually happened.
But they changed it in the movie anyway.

You would have to do a full very long documentary and use old footage, interviews (much of which is lost) to satisfyingly cover Brocks life. You can't cover someones full life in 4hrs esp someone like Brock.
It was aimed at "non motorsport" people who follow celebrity not we the factual racing rivet counters.
Sporting heros in Australia are held in a god like status. Many forget they are human and have issues like the rest of us. The energy polerizer drama showed the public Brock at his worse. At the time i remember thinking he would back down before GMH would be left no choice, but regardless of all the tests and advice from his colleagues Brock was in determined to destroy himself and his reputation. That was very sad to watch as he had an excellent business future that was eventually gifted to walkinshaw.
We have seen this crash happen to many of our football, cricket, swimming, boxing, athletic heros over the years. They are just mortals like all of us.
Love to see a full life doco on Brocks life.

Yeah, I bet the execs. wanted to make it female friendly fearing it'd bomb if it didn't have neighbours style drama, hell, they even put in a Neighbours actress into the lead role. I only watched pt. 2 but felt the movie was more about her than him.
