Or at least a mini series. :)

Probably more engrossing if you had a Torana.  :sofa:

I think it was rather popular in my area. There was zero road traffic from 8:30  in my street. lol. Eerie!

Lol, Nah.  a boring show is a boring show.... can't see how car ownership affects one's opinion of a television show ?

I can't believe James is buying into this crap.

Wait for part 2 tonight. Then you will see the web light up! lol.

I hope they put the disclaimer up again for a bit longer, just so those who need adult guidance to watch Road Runner & Willie Coyote cartoons can read it.

I would much prefer it if it was a documentary but then Skap would have gone to sleep even earlier.

Was a great movie to see the life and times of Brocky,

and like any movie based on a true story,

they are only based on one. :)

A lonnnnng time ago when I was a youngster living near Greensborough Victoria , there was a place known as Diamond Valley Speed Shop. Run by a lovely gentleman by the name of Geoff Brock. Having watched the Brock movie last night I would have to say that the producers at least got the actor and appearance correct for Geoff, he looked just like him, as for the rest of the show...........................................................

Off James Brocks facebook:

"So, umm. I feel I must say something regarding the T.V. show I watched last night, I originally wasn't going to, but after speaking to a few people who contacted me today I felt the need.

To anyone who matters, was there and knows the facts, you undoubtedly feel as I do, that the show was possibly one of the worst bits of "D grade" trash that we have subject to in recent times. That being said I hope none of you take any of it to heart. It is a crying shame that a story that deserved to be told honestly and respectfully has been treated so poorly. Again for those that know the stories, they also know that there was no need for embellishment or distorting of the facts, they were some wild and crazy times and some of the funniest and wrongest stuff I have ever seen and heard about; which would have made for a killer show.

For those who don't know the reality just take it from the people who were around, this show was so far from the truth that you should take it as was hopefully intended, a bit of light entertainment at best, and at worst just the typical sort of disrespectful crap you see in the media in general these days.

I watched it, I laughed so hard at some points because of the terribleness, is that even a word? It should be. I thought there were some good actors in it, and I won't pan them, despite their individual talents even they were unable to make anything of what was a terrible script and terrible production.

Rant ends, you can now go about your business. ; )"

Cheers.

I gotta go along with that ^^ ......   I know it is a fictional characterisation....   But I personally don't like it..  Brocky was no doubt human, with human faults, like the rest of us.  And I'm sure at times,  was a down right pr*ck..   But that is not the story of Peter Brock that I think needs to be told.

But I guess any attempt,  be it a Movie or a Documentary, could not ever go close to explaining his life in 4 hours or so..   But I agree, he deserves a documentary on his life..  Not Puberty Blues goes to Bathurst ...  imho ..  :)

Knew it was never made to be nowhere near accurate but some of the car lines had me cringing badly like the bedroom 1972 scene learning the track

'rev to 6000rpm..dont tell Harry then into fifth'

Was good to see the old cars on screen, they should have let some car nuts preview/critique the car scenes as that will be main audience when it goes to dvd

Pity it wasn't much on all the groupies he was tappin' otherwise would have been r rated

Correct. No mention of Repco Trials, Off road, Overseas attempts........
If Channel 7 had of done this, as a doco, it could have spanned 2 weeks!

I enjoyed every minute of it. Just disappointed that it didn't go longer and showed more.

I noticed the change into 5th bit too lol, in a fckin 4 speed, you serious?

Not being picky at this point, but wanted to point out the corner at the end was wrong too. It was nothing like the actual corner which drops away and and is probably about a 120 -150 degree turn.

It is way sharper than it appears as you approach.

A bit of moisture and high speed, its not hard to see why they didn't make it around.

Also, the tree was way too big. The actual tree was pretty small, at least judging by the stump that is left.

It was entertaining, made me cry like a baby at the end, mainly cause the corner was all wrong lol, but there was no depth to it, and they spent way too long on the HSV and polarizer cr@p.

I hope one day someone does a proper doco, or adds an addendum to "Peter Brock the Legend"

That is pretty good but was made when VHS was still a thing.

There was so much of his life they just glossed over or didn't even mention, it was disappointing in that respect.
