I wouldn't bother putting them back together if they were my parents... WHAT!? :tease:

What was that wonderful ornament I recieved by delivery today Chopper? A banjo missing a few pieces? Or a Small Salsbury centre?

Cardomain has them... but i'll list some here anyway

Visual:
* 2k Paintjob in mint julip and black (solid)
* Airbrushed mural on bonnet, and maybe more (doesn't cost me anything to do it, just time)
* 13x7 and 13x8 widened chromed stockies wrapped in SF-340 Eagers
* Custom trimmed blue and black velour interior, with charcoal headlining, matching steering wheel and boss kit, new black carpet
* LH SLR black dashboard and console
* Boot trimmed in charcoal carpetted panels
* Decent stereo with 8" sub in parcel shelf

Mech:
* Rebuilt front end
* Rebuilt 3.55:1 Banjo (only until i am 18, then i will go a sensible ratio)
* King Spring Lows
* Blue/Black 202
* Electronic Dizzy
* Starfire Rods
* Counterweighted Crank
* Domed Pistons
* Stage 1/LPG Cam
* Double valve springs
* Blue 173 12-Port high comp head
* High volume oil pump
* Chromed side plates and Alloy rocker cover
* GRA Mixer and evaporator

That's quite a simplified list... but you get the idea.

How arrogant would you have to be to Airbrush yourself on your car's bonnet...

Looks like a fairly decent set of plans. I like the sound of that 202...

Mine won't be anything like a factory car (visually; drivetrain won't be that hot) but I'm sticking with factory colours because I love them.

Exactly the same as my LJ... Every aspect of the car will be modified, but I'm keeping the original colours because they rule.

*grumble*

EDIT: Yay new page no need for the deletion of awful photos.

'Twas an early start... No actually that's a lame way to start a story. This morning a fellow Victorian Torana Club member; Peter UC came around and we got to work.

Posted Image
I think you have some idea of what we may have been working on? Just possibly

THE PROBLEM:
Posted Image

THE SOLUTION:
Posted Image
ROFL not really, in fact it was just to straiten that area of the guard up really; there's still the rust that has to be repaired, lol!!!

Peter and I got to work and after a bit of cutting complicated joins of skins and rails, we had freed a section which would be useful:
Posted Image
Posted Image

I got out the grinder (again) and made some room!
Posted Image

Not perfect, but not too bad, clamps are your friend :spoton:
Posted Image

Anyway, before that went on, we had to repair at least the inner part of the rust problem (or we wouldn't have any access to it!)

With a bit of clamping:
Posted Image

With a bit of Peter's welding:
Posted Image

With a bit of my grinding:
Posted Image

And amongst some of this we also managed to fill all the holes for the brackets from the "SL" Chromed light surrounds (yes I like them too but they don't go with the paintjob I wanna do!) properly; by welding them. So that's some more progress, although we didn't get nearly as much as we expected done.

In all seriousness though, if anyone wants to rent me their MIG welder for a few weeks (In Melb Eastern Suburbs), I am really keen. I wanna get all the welding work done (with my new welding experience from Rob) so that I can straiten the bastard out and prep it for its desperately needed paintwork!

The end result of today's work:

i may have missed something, but why did you cut right up into the boot jamb instead of just continuing the straight cut from under the tail light thru to the wheel arch opening.

The panel was, as the Australians say, FAAAAARRRRRKKKKEEEEDDDD

lol the car's rear left is absolutely destroyed and ripped apart in every possible way. It's full of bog, wavey enough to surf on and it's not even aligned anywhere near acceptably.
