73lj202 - cool mate, we shall keep an eye open for you as we come down Stud Rd. If I remember, I could call you when we're close if you want, otherwise just expect us approx 10:40 I guess.... if you do want me to call you, send me a PM with your mob number...
Anyone else likely to meet up out in Ferntree Gully with us? Looks like a small convoy at this stage... everyone I chat to wants to come but have work committments... Either way, we'll be at the Arboretum ready to rock n roll at 10:30.

The only downside to this is we may not be able to all go in together.
Thoughts?
jpxu1, thanks for your Mobile no., I'll call in the morning.
Should have makka in tow.
Drive safely everyone, let's all get there in one piece 'eh?
Cheers.

Unfortuately looks as though I can't make it, I've got the kids this week and was hoping to be able to get them looked after whilst I went to the memorial, but haven't been able to find anyone, and I know the kids won't be able to put up with 5hrs of me looking at cars,before/after the service and during the service.(there not into cars 2 x daughters!) So I'm really peved!, I may just be able to cruise down there with everyone from the Gully and say hi, and then will probably have to leave.
LXCHEV, when you go down Stud Rd,if you don't see my White LJ, just keep going mate, as it looks like I won't be there. Not HAPPY JAN!
Fingers cross I will be! you never know!

Quick trivia question....
How many races did Brocky enter in the A9X Sedan in the photos ?
From memory it was only a couple before HDT got a hatch built him.
Making that sedan in the photos one of the least well known 05 cars !

At least most of them don't have burnt out yellow headlights, hah!
Now I'm in for it, lol. Excuse the low quality on the pics that I zoomed in for, and I didn't even rotate all the side-on shots, I just uploaded all of them and deleted the ones i didn't like very much.
EDIT: Two new files in the "Video" folder of my Photobucket:
https://cache.gmh-to.../Hezath/Videos/
The XU-1 in the second vid was one of the loudest sixes i've ever heard. Sounded sooo good (but the mic in the camera is shocking). Surprised it didn't give me an audio-induced orgasm; it was so loud it set off a HDT Commodore's car alarm as it cruised past the display!

Had tears in my eyes when the A30 went around the track with the film clips and the song Forever Young being played.
All I can say is I was able to say Goodbye to Brocky, my Hero/Idol and champion, It brought some closure, but it's still god dam hard to think we will never be able to see him in person again. I'll just treasure the fact I had the priviledge to watch him race since '72.
Farewell my Hero & Idol.

Agree, Moffatt's speech was heartfelt, very sincere.
I noticed John Harvey close to tears at the end of his speech.... must have been hard for those blokes to get up and share private memories with Joe Public.
Got to meet some new faces of members I feel I already know.
Was great to meet such a nice family as Wraith75's, nice bloke....caught up briefly with PeterUC on the grid.
Always good to catch up with the likes of Heath, makka, Matty (253ToranaSS) and girlfriend Maddy, Paul (LX2DR), Brett and Deb (everyone knows who they are!!), TORANA AMORE, and many more.
Special thanks to Gary (LC69GTR) for the posters and stickers.... Fantastic job on those mate. Thank you.
It's a pity that such a sad day brought some great memories.
As was noted earlier, and if you've been to Heath's photobucket you would have seen that, we were allowed onto the track to complete a lap to honour the memory of Australia's Greatest Driver, Brocky.
A huge thank you to Brett for bugging some official who agreed, there were not enough Torries out there!!
Here are some pics I got, not quite the same as Heath's.... but hey, I was driving....
Hope you enjoy what I was able to get.
Got some great video, but can't post that.

Cheers all.
