i,d say scotty most mechanics get excited when they find the 899 xu1 ratio and scratch there heads if they have to replace the cluster or 3rd gear ..

I remember when working at the Holden dealer the steady stream of new XU1s trckling off in 73.
At Gilberts Camperdown (Sydney) we had 5 XU1s that sat in the predelivery department for ages.
A batch of the 73 Bathurst spec cars actually ended up at the Police department dressed as GTRs, so that would have helped the numbers.
How many were built?
I don't know. It would be nice to know, But I wouldn't lose sleep over it..
I just like to enjoy what I own.

It must be very frustrating to track down what a 72 Bathurst homolgation car actually is. At least with the 73 homolgation the cars were identified in the service bulletin to dealers but of course that hasn't stopped the never ending arguments . Good luck on your search for the truth. Here's my baby...

Hahaha!!! GOLD!I'd be guessing of the 1690 that were built there would only be roughly 4000 left..........
