Good work Heath. It's excellent seeing someone doing everything themselves. It's a credit to you. Can't wait to see it finished.

LOL Rob. Cheers guys yeah it's bloody good fun, I pulled my finger out a few days and have been doing some work on the car. All the pinstripes are gone from the panels I'm keeping, and I've done a few repairs but don't have access to a welder atm, should be borrowing one shortly.

I've still got a lot of work ahead of me but the car is fairly straight.

I think it's safe to assume that this car will be painted more quickly than the first one! I intend to have the shell painted in a few weeks but a lot of the other stuff will come later on. Not in a rush, just wanna get certain things out of the way and don't wanna leave shit in acrylic primer, especially with no garage obviously haha.

I want to do some stuff to BBQ-202 as well so this won't get 100% of my attention

hahahahhahhaa! lmfao! they are actually old milk crates, upside-down with some crappy carpet on there so it doesn't damage the primer on the other side.

Mick, I don't watch telly unless I'm at the missus' house really... I do spend a lot of time on the computer though (even when I'm working my arse off outside, I'll come in for a drink break etc and log in here haha). I walked into Eastern Auto Paint with some mates and said "hey I'm looking for a bright blue acrylic top coat" and he handed over some pamphlets, and none of them did that much for me, then he got one out and it was a Powdercoating colour, nice and bright, I showed it to my friends and they thought it looked the goods, >$400 later I walked out with lots materials.

Actually interesting there, I picked up 4L of filler, which is obviously more than I would use myself, but I split it with two others mates and we should each have enough for our cars (KE20, 180B & mine), and it only cost $50. It's labelled as a Protect product, but it's actually a K&H product that's marketted with the Protec name for industry. The bloke at the paint shop was saying it has less talc etc so it's easier to f*ck up with if you've never used bog before, but if you've done some bodywork before it's the way to go. Very lightweight and easy to sand, and work with in general. Stays a bit stickier than the regular Autobarn K&H 'Kahfil' but it sands beautifully anyway (weird) and it's a LOT cheaper when you actually put it into perspective. Obviously anyone in the industry will have their own favourite product, but yeah I only just discovered it and now I've got heaps of my mates onto it :)

Thanks for sharing your info with that filler heath!

It would be interesting to try something different when i do the SS, will be great to have something thats easier to sand!

Yeah, it's a shame I can't post up the work I'm doing with it though, or I might get a bunch of f*cktards who've never painted a car telling me that I'm using too much bog, again. Sorry about that :P

Hey heath well done so far mate.

Re Blaze blue, yes its just an Australian standard industrial color. One of the drill rigs at work is that color, and i managed to borrow a small amount, so now my Hilux engine is that color to haha.

Really is a nice shade.

Cheers.
