I'm not lazy................
Just pre-occupied with going faster than V8's with a 6.

I'll get to my Torana one day.

Yeah but it has LX tags and LXs came without that structure, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I'll hinge them, just gonna make small steel plates for some captive nuts to be tacked (using the hinge itself as a template for the bolt pattern) - one for each hinge and then dremel out the adjuster holes in the door frame itself. They have a full frame that I can put the door trims onto, i could bolt in an internal lever and shit but I'm not sure what extent I will go to considering there will be no rear seat

I also want to trim the lip that you mount the polycarb/lexan so it's a bit more subtle, and I'll paint it black, should be good. Just a shame I won't have blackouts on this car so it won't blend in all that well regardless of what I do.

Geeze can't get a bloody break on here can I? Do this, do that! :P

"$330 ea." but I went and picked them up & paid cash so I got a small discount. I don't know how much they weigh but Fraser from Alfa Motorsport Fibreglass said i can save 20kg per door if I go all out, so I will be saving just a fraction off that I imagine. Properly substancial difference in mass, can't argue about that. But that isn't the only thing - I'm pretty sure they are nice & straight, and they will never rust or anything. As far as a typical replacement door, well you've got some work to do if you want to make it look like a steel one, because putting the glass in the same way isn't gonna be super quick & easy, but they are definitely not worth ignoring as an option, particularly as some panels will become harder to find in the future.

Admittedly they are a little rough around the edges but they should clean up nicely and with a lick of highfill and a block back I will let you know how they come up. I was looking at some glass doors from Alfa in top coat today and they were straight as a die, but not only that, they also lined up with everything else on the car perfectly. I guess that's what you get for paying a little extra

I just realised I haven't really touched this car in over a month. It's a very seasonal project atm!

When DJ was staying here over the weekend, we had a spare day and a half so he helped me out getting some areas looking nicer, and his efficiency kinda got me motivated. I'm back into it now (kinda) got a little break from TAFE atm too but lotsa shit to do.

He was gonna give me a hand painting it on Monday but the weather was shithouse so I've just been continuing by myself since he went back to Rocky, as the weather was awesome today

That's just one coat, enough to seal it for now. The weather is gonna turn shithouse in the next little while, so hopefully I can get some more areas out of the way before that happens, then I can focus on some mechanicals and get back into bodywork later on. Probably end up with a Holden Racing Grey front end! hahahahah

Hey Heath ive just checked this thread out for the first time.

EXCELLENT STUFF>

Wow, you can certainly turn something with scarey rust issues into something worthwhile. Well done mate.

Im going to check out the fiberglass doors n things for mine too and maybe full front panels.

Hope you can get a bit more done on this one soon.
