Now you're talking.

During wind tunnel testing in the late 70s it was found that the UC body shape can handle speeds in excess of Mach 2 no problem.

Right, boring update without picks.

Something is happening again.  I"ve been broke, brought a new race car (Mindi) and been more broke, so not much, but something.

Complete assessment of damage.

Head is non serviceable. All of the chambers have been hogged to far. If we try to weld the issue up then it may just go again.

Good only for parts. 4k down the drain.

As of tonight, a new head has been purchased, a 149 high comp with a bit of tickling already, center posts taken out with crush tubes fitted and the like, but reasonably untouched where its important.

Basically its exactly what i was chasing for a new core. And i assure you, i've been searching high and low.

I havnt seen it in person yet, and wont for a while, as its getting dropped straight to Predator Race Engines in brissy, where Greens Nice (Kev) off these here forums works for him to diddle its skittle.

Will pilfer the paperweight head for parts then probably bansdaw it or put it on the shelf of horsepower or something.

Other damage is minor. 3 and 4 cylinders copped a nice bath, hence need a hone, so i'll get that done at some stage. Should clean up without needing a new overbore.

Will probably throw it a new set of rings as well.

Also i degreed the cam up properly, need to discuss the results with a few more knowlegables but its got 260 @ .050" on the intake, so a bit bigger than i thought. Strangly the exhaust has a touch less duration and lift, so thinking about getting 1.6:1 rockers for the exhaust.  Also just looking at the results with my relatively newby eye i recon it could do with advancing a few degrees. Have adjustable timing gears on it so thats no big issue.

Apart from that its just sitting around fingering my bum waiting for funds to roll in.

Working on other things atm so have hardly looked at the car.

I have picked up and fitted a set of Rare Spares quarter vent seals, as i was never happy with the Betta Auto ones, with good results, i'll start a new thread on that direct comparison once i compile my pictures and thoughts.

Cheers.

Excellent Update DJ,

I have read, that Higher Compression needs less Exhaust, as the Pressure Dissipates Quickly,

so don't change the Exhaust Yet Mate. Dave I

Compression will still be on the low side, Depending on what kev winds up with around 10.5-11:1. About a point or a point and a half lower than where i should be with this cam.

Also the extractors are a little on the small side, and only running a 2 1/2" exhaust, which is borderlien to small for this combo as well.

But yeah, we will see.

At the end of the day rockers are easy to change.

Cheers.

THe old windscreen rubbers dont fit, the new ones are fine.

I like the door seals, there not a copy of the original, but they work nicely. Havnt seen the new improved rares ones though.

And yeah, never over it, My poor girl, i've ignored her for months on end so many times now, but she's always there for me.

Cheers.

1 5/8" primary

They are an improved version of the hm9c pipes (slip fit secondary with something similar to a burns 3>1 collector)

Pictures are in A build thread somewhere.

I'll work something out and get back to ya :)

There's nothing weird about your engine is there (winged sump, odd engine mounts etc?)
