Yeah V8 Dance.... It involves bending over the front guards to repair the bent 8 and a whole heap of headscraching to determine what's wrong with it B4 hand......

OK OK, next time Tempest is around i'll get him drunk again, make him redo the V8 dance, video it and youtube it.

Words can not describe hahahaha.

Update, just pressure tested all my flexible lines to 90psi. Considering the operating pressure for most of them is between 9 and 3 psi i think they'll be right, hehehehe.

Doesnt take much head scratching. Obviously the block is bent, theres to many rods hanging off each journal of the crank, two unneeded cylinders, Exhausts running everywhere, to many problems to list.

Cheers.

OK small update as my wrist is hurting again (dang wankers cramp)

Shortened and fitted up my throttle cable today

Posted Image

Yeah yeah i know wanky, but was actually cheaper than replacing the broken early commy one i used to run so meh. And you can cut the outersheath and inner line to the right lengh so they fit right, win.

Fitted up my extractors, relocated the o2 bung ets on Thursday. Think this is one of the jobs that hurt my wrist...

Tight fit....

Yes i know the engine crane is at the wrong end of the VW, thank you.

I also pressure tested all the AN flexy lines i made up for the fuel system and trans cooler lines. They held 90psi nicely so i think they will be fine with the 9psi and 3psi my fuel system runs and whatever the trans runs haha. Refitted the trans cooler lines on the trans end, bit of a bugger with the rear one (return) as i need to drop the x member to get a spanner on the fitting, as the transbrake solenoid is in the way. Meh the joys of modefied cars.

I need to pull the trans x member off one day and fix it. I got it made up at an exhaust shop years and years ago before i had a welder, during the first biuld, and as with everything else i've payed a professional to do on this car its shithouse, so it will need some mods when my wrist gets better.....

NOW, Question time. I made these up ages ago to tidy up the front of the engine bay a bit and help duct more air through the trans cooler/rad, stop some from blowing over the top of the radiator support panel.

Do they look shit or ok?? Need to be polished and fitted yet.

Lemme know what you all think about those panels.

Cheers.

I could prolly do that for you Andrew.

Material cost is f/a, i got a full 1200x2400 sheet of 3mm alloy from the local alloy supplier as a "second" cause it had like 4 scratches on one side only for half price, $130, years ago, hence most the stuff you see me make out of alloy is 3mm lol, bar a few little lengths of this and that i get from Bunnings every now and again. So thats not really an issue.

Think i lost the templates but wouldnt take much to make another lot of templates......Whatcha offerin??? hehehehe Blank and undrilled so you can work out your own mounting system, as the idea i have in mind may not be to your taste....And unpolished...Polishing my own stuff is enough of an effort hehe.

Cheers.

re: the v8 dance.... focused around the idea and type casting the people who feel the need to stick old V8's into everything

It was a time and place thing.... you had to be there

..... back on topic.

hey dj any reason to not stand the o2 sensor up right ? looks to be at 9 oclock? doubt that will be an issue as the dragster has condensation exiting the pipes on a cold night idlind abd sensor is still ok.

The whole things looking mint. Loving the yellow engine and all the bling fittings.

Can you explain that breather box? I don't exactly understand what it does.

Replaces the PCV system. All the baffls and stuff are to try to remove the oil from the air so hopefully my bonnet doesnt get a nice oil stain just above the box.

Mind i've thought of a few problems with my design so i may well cut it up again, havnt decided yet.

Cheers.
