Learning is spose to be a fun experience, its all not my doing though. only money but the worst thing was i wasnt getting any of this done unless it would pass for rego.

He has ruined the car and what i wanted to achieve.it would of passed in melb ,but seems ive passed the cut off point because of setback with the dodgy work ,will only ever just be a drag and abit of showin .if i could scrape more money up id get a clip from Frank Zagari.engineer was going to just do tinwork and the areas that need fixing and settle for second best and move on to the nxt thing to do to her

WOW, you have really been burned. I often wonder how many of these wheel tubed, 4 link, cars are legally registered. The cost must be enormous when its done correctly let along FFFFed up by some incompetent fool. I don't know if this helps, a bloke I think his name is Mark Hayes, has a registered LC, tubs, 4 link, big block Chev, etc, however, regoed in Vic for years. Has featured in Street Machine may be somewhat helpful. Although if you are not going to bother with rego I suppose you can do whatever you want to it. Enjoy the freedom. There must be places where you can drive it around. Just recently at at show in Maleny I saw a standard looking HQ driving around in the showground with a donk that looked like it had just came out of a doorslamer. All the best with what you can do with your troubled build.

regards

Thanks Bud.... she was going to john langs in melb to get done little while back, but all the shit that comes with it .reg.engineering
etc.i started getting cold feet on worrying once back here they would say even though its approved all test etc ,it doesnt matter, was

allready told that it wont pass by rta here.and was informed just recently by fabricator who uses the rta fella was saying the new rules arechaos, that you cant  tubbed cars regd anymore, even interstate now.only probably on sly inspection by someone.

he's heard of getting engineers approval all the way along, then rego authority have said no and turned there car into racecars

they are making it hard for modified cars now,its f$%#ing stupid

Hi Maz,

Are your rails 840mm outside to outside of box sections atm?

I measured the standard LC, and seems to be about 810mm.

You are spot on Dave that the rails should have been shorter ,14'' is the measurement from outside of rail to

inner lip.

there is a measurement back through here somewhere.measured from c pillar to clip and its near exact

 attachicon.gifmaz's fabricatoin 042.jpg

You need to get the rails moved in Mate.  :furious:

Haha yeah your right  Dave but your out by miles.  3mm in fact  :)

i have made up my mind to take Ray's clip out and have gave Frank a txt just to get a rough quote on his bare clip.

like what we chatted about Franks ,has a way better profile.the sheet steel work will look heaps better especially at the front of the tub floor area and side of clip.

ive done a few measurements and im looking at moving them in around 2 1/4 inches ea side to accomodate bigger feet.

Was only going to go 28s as didnt want to stretch the guard too much as i dont like how some look flat at the top

ive looked at some sizes mickey's and hoosiers and they dont get that much wider than what i have bar a couple inches

What about the dreaded rego? It will be interesting to see if the job is done properly, can be registered. I'm often sceptical about these so called legally registered cars with drag race 4 link suspension and huge rubber. I'm getting sick of all the problems you can have with modifications were you change things drastically, I'm starting to stick with beefing up whats there allready. But good luck mate.

Regards

Nar im pretty settled on whos doing it bud,I dont know Michael especially that last
name haha......Gonzo is going to do the work ,he is only 40ks away and way more convenient
if we need to discuss anything in particular how i want it to look or change etc.me doing the measures saves having the car crowding his shop while hes on other projects and waiting for clip housing to arrive. This is how the clip will look but slightly different loop, but still discussing small detail on that atm.

Welded frank zagaris loop in wrong position.parts missing etc....faaaaark me..in a way im glad he didnt assemble it otherwise he would of been in a shit...im still staying positive no matter what the outcomes are.pics coming
