HQ CALIPER AND DISC TORANA STUB

I think I have this right but still would love some clarification.
I want to run hq disc and Calipers on my standard lx torana stub.
Is it as simple as buying new hq discs then getting them machined 6mm off the diameter?
Hq caliper boot straight up to torana stub?
Also which H series caliper are the best to use?
Also what side should the caliper be mounted on? Towards front or rear of car?
Does this setup hit anything on full lock?

Torana stubs use the same bearing as HQ so fit no problem. Might as well re grease them while it’s apart.
Make sure you use new discs or you will need to machine the entire pad area as the contact wear area on a HQ is different to when you fit them on an LX. On Torana stubs the wear area extends closer to the hub.
You need to machine 6mm off the radius, so 12 mm off the diameter.
Going to run HQ pattern wheels? No problem.
Going to run Torana pattern? Budget for drilling new pattern.
Leave the calipers on the front.
Caliper choice? The steel HQ ones are fairly small. Minimal if any grinding required.
Alloy LX ones fit with the addition of HX pad carriers. Not loved by many here but from personal experience are fine for a street car.
Others have used alloy girlocks. I have these on my LC.
May or may not need to grind the inferior metal edge of the pad (the edge closest to the spindle of the stub axle) so it doesn’t rub on the disc hub.
Dont mind the grumpy folk. They are an invaluable source of information that isn’t replicated anywhere else. I have received lots of excellent expert help over the years!

Thanks most of them are hq stub. I’m keeping my torana stubs as ride height is spot on.

I have a pair of HQ slotted front rotors, (Torana stud pattern) machined so they are 6mm reduced off the OD. The calipers are alloy I was told they were from a HX. I also have stainless brake hoses for them. The discs are like new, The calipers had new pistons and kits fitted when I restored the car, but at the time of removal they started to get a bit sticky when cold. My hatch only got out a few times a year so that was more than likely the problem. (to much sitting around time) I was running 14" x 8" wheels. Upgraded my wheels to 17" and decided to fit 300mm brakes. If they are any use to you flick me an offer.

Sorry to bring up an old thread fellas, but I have attempted the HQ vented disc conversion using the Torana Stub, UC steering arm and HQ rotor turned down 6mm off the radius.
It was a huge failure.
I bought the A9X style large Girlock alloy callipers, reco'ed them, clearanced them just like everyone else showed on this forum but mine did not even come close to fitting due to insufficient tie rod clearance.
So now I am on the market for a new set of calipers that will work with my front end.
Just to be 100% so I don't buy the wrong callipers again, what are my caliper options here?
From the reseach I've done on this forum, it appears I can only fit 2 types of calipers:
These are the PBR HQ cast iron callipers with the sliding pins and large external clip retainer
OR the PBR alloy calipers. Is this correct?

Doing this on a UC that is being converted to LX.
Those Harrop arms are selling for $300 each now and that is a little too expensive
